Default Post 7.02.43 PLUTONIUM drivers eat up gigs of space. Help!

I first downloaded and installed omega/plutonium x1.0.71 and had no problems with installing it.

I then found out that 7.02.43 drivers were offered too so I downloaded and tried to install those. When I double clicked on the installer, my hard drive started to rattle did nothing else. It kept doing that for 10 minutes so I decided to end the process.

Before I ran the 7.02.43 installer I had 16 gigs free on my hard drive...now I have 13!!! First of why didn't this install, and second why did it eat up GIGS of hard disk space? How can I recover that space again?? I tried disk clean up and no dice!

Sounds nasty

Try emptying your temp folder (C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Local Settings\Temp) and your recycle bin. All lost space should now be recovered.

I don't know what could have been causing this, it may be a corrupt archive, as I am not the one hosting that file. Did you run a Virus Scan on that file?

I would like to help you out, but I need some more info on it. If this happened to you, I may remove that link from my website Pronto.

Hey Cyborg...remember this happened to me also and i got it to work by downloading it off the link you gave me and changed to to an exe. But yes you should clear your internet cache and cookies and re-download. Also if you double click the setup program you said nothing happens...Well the program doesnt start but it sucks up a lot of the CPU, you have to Ctrl-Alt-Delt the setup to get your computer normal again.

OK Sounds like a common problem, I am going to be removing the link, and putting up my new set when it becomes available.

(PS Its Plutonium X43 Special Edition)

Read more about it when I post the info on it later today.

Thanks for the help guys. I still lost gigs of hard disk space. I cleared my temp internet faces, and my cache but I still have gigs of space missing.

Anyone know of anyway to recover them?
