RTCW Stutter?
Ok. This is happening with both my brother's rig and my rig. We both have Cat 3.10s. Every now and then the game will pause and the sound will stutter a few times an next thing i know it is back to normal. It's very annoying.
I know it's not an AGP problem because we both have 8X (Me) and 4X(Him) and the issue is persists on both. Disabling Fast Writes doesn't help either. It doesn't happen in any other game like UT2K3 or whatever. So it's not a heat problem. Anybody else got any other suggestions? (For those who are too lazy to look at sigs) Oh yeah, we both got SBLives I have a 9500 PRO and he has a 9100 Intel P4 3.35 For Me and he has a P4 2.07 We're also using the latest SBlive drivers.

but that stutter your on about sounds like a similar thing to when i first played half life on a nvidia card, could never figure out the problem. |

Well..
3.10s actually helped me out. 3.9 had more of the stutter than 3.10s. It's just odd that now my bro is experiencing it. He never had the problem. I lowered my PCI Latency Clock to 32, to see if it helps. I'll do the same for him as well. Funny how my ASUS P4P800 Deluxe came with it at 64 and my ASUS P4PE came with it at 32. Reading Rojak's BIOS Opt Guide (Pure Golden Info BTW) It is recommended that it should be at 32, but if you're feeling adventurous it's "ok" to put it up to 64.

Have you been playing around with your BIOS? If you have, try setting it to CMOS defaults.

Additional note
My bro's PC was reformatted. Then the problem occurred.

If you're using SBLive's I'd suggest trying another PCI slot, preferrably something which does not share another IRQ, the SB-Live's do not do IRQ sharing very well. I know I had a similiar problem and moving my SB Live to another IRQ fixed it for me.
