Default Post another noobie question: can i softmod my 9700 tx --> 9800 ?

I have the dell 9700 tx, which i think it is clocked at the same speed as a 9700, and i been reading a lot soft mod , but can't seem to find anything that's about softmoding 9700->9800, i tried to install omega drive, but it only has the option of softmod for 9500 and 9800, so what should i do ? thanks !

BTW: what clocks does it have??

Do you mean a non pro or a pro 9700 clock?

If it has 325/310 clocks then its a pro type card but you really cant do anything more to it.
.............................

Nope its a nonpro(less than non-pro actually)...cause i just found it.

In fact it so low that a 9500nonpro has better clocks whick means that your card probally has 3.8 or even 4.0 ns memory chips (very slow and not too could for overclocking)

Go HERE and see your cards bios (hacked for overclocking by warp11).

You could try to flash it with another bios but thats risky if you dont know what your doing and your overall performance isnt really gonna benefit with your cards ram.

My suggestion is to get rid of it A.S.A.P and get a better card cause its only gonna cause you grief when you cant play the newer titles.

JUst another example of a ready built system and its cheap internals not to mention that if you try to upgrade you lose your warantee with some of these companies.

DIY rules!!!

... I thought they're was some sort of 9700-->9800 soft mod driver awhile back. And he would'ent need to increase the clocks or anything. And by the way your 9700 is clocked lower but it'll probably still beat most of the midrange cards so who cares!

On the RAM, it should say a bunch of stuff and the last few numbers should be something like 40, 38, whatever the NS is. So 40 would be 4.0... you divide 1000 by that to see what the theretical max rate the ram will go is. Some ram will go higehr then this, some will go lower.
