I just recently bought a new laptop computer from hybridgear. It is a Pentium 4 3.2 ghz, 1024MB ram, Radeon 9600 Mobility, 60 gig hard drive. However with the standard drivers that came from the manufacturer I will be in the middle of a game and the laptop will reboot itself, even when plugged into an AC adapter. I updated the drivers, which solved this problem, however when using the latest omega drivers whenever I unplug the AC adapter the screen becomes blotchy until I reboot and plug in the AC adapter again. I don't know what to do, can someone please help? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

That post did not solve my problem, and that error had nothing to do with a blotched screen when the ac adapter was removed, so no that didn't help me

Hello, I get the same problem. However, I did not try this with the power connected. This is how I fixed the issue. First I downloaded the latest Radeon driver from ATI. Using winzip I extracted all the files in the exe to a folder then I manually installed the driver by using update driver section in device manager/properties/update driver. After I updated the driver I manually installed the control panel. Then everything is fine. I think there is something in the software that loads with Omega that causes it to corrupt the signal. I say this because the arrow that shows up before the user screen is fine then it looks like something gets loaded then the screen become garbled.

Here is some more detail when installing the drivers manually. You will have to use advance and point to the driver to where you extracted the exe to. Then choose radeo 9600 series when you see all the available devices to install. In my experience, main chipset of chips do not change just the way it is interfaced, so generic drivers will alway work. It may loose some performance, but this will create more stability. I don't know if that makes any sense the way I decribed it but now my system is very stable and not garbled no matter if I have it plugged in to the wall for power or on battery. Hope this helps.
