Recommended Driver for OEM Radeon 8500

One of my Gateway systems came with an OEM ATi Radeon 8500. Gateway "claims" that using anything but their drivers isn't recommended. That being said, their latest driver is 1 1/2 years old.

I tried the ATi Cat 3.10's and ran into a problem with Outlook 2003 not starting. Tried also the latest Omega's, but a scripting error message at the end of the install process (if I recall, something about line 23 not being valid).

Any suggestions/recommendations for a driver for an 8500?

Try an old driver set like 3.9 or 3.8 and see how it goes...

you shoulde be fine withthe latest cat 3.10's

well give me a link to you makers driver and see if i can't mod u one....

The error message in the 3.10 is common and can be ignored. I also get the same error message and if you look on this forum you can see that it has already been highlighted by others. They should work just fine.

3.10 seemed to work fine for my 8500, no probs, but then I dont game or OC.
