arrow Textures Missing - Babylon 5 - IFH
Babylon 5 - I've Found Her is a free, downloadable game that I've been tinkering with off and on for a few weeks now.

One of the major issues is that it seems that newer RADEON cards are failing to display certain textures of the game. I'm presently using Omega's latest drivers, but, the issue exists with official CAT drivers, too.

The problem, however, does NOT exist on my older 64 DDR VIVO card. I'm posting screen captures of what I'm talking about. You'll notice that on my newer 9600 Pro there is no planet visible beyond the space shuttle. The planet DOES appear in the same area on my 64 DDR VIVO card....using the latest Omega's for 9x/ME.

I've tried several different settings from within the Control Panel and nothing has worked so far. The game is playing very nicely and I'd like to pursue it farther, but, with things not showing up, it's kind of senseless. (I'd much prefer to play it on my 9600. )

EDIT: 1/19/04 ALSO, it's important to note that the Babylon 5: IFH LOGO does not appear just prior to the credits in this same intro movie. This comes right after the screenshots I've posted.

The official IFH Forums is not accessible to me at the moment. BUT, I did get on it very briefly enough to see that they claim to have this issue fixed in an upcoming patch/update for the game. So, whether it's a video driver issue or a game issue, I'm not sure about as yet. Only thing I know is that just about every ATi card owner is having the problem.

The official B5-IFH Forum says that the issue will be resolved with the upcoming patch. However, there's no time frame for when the patch may be ready. They're dealing with other issues, too.

I just tried the game again after upgrading my vidcard and there's still missing textures.

I do not think i saw a screenshot, but chances are, it's the engine issues with certain shaders on ATI hardware? This is a wild guess though, since I have not played the game. I can try if I have some spare time later today to see how it goes on my hardware, but would still like to see a screenie.

I can take some screenshots. But, what you would see is......nothing.

What I mean is, right at the beginning of the game, there's a squadron of fighters flying toward a planet. The planet simply doesn't appear. It's like they are flying into a black hole.

There are other things like this that are totally just not showing up as they should.
