ATI Multimedia center PC check

Ok, first off I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum. When I run the ATI multimedia center PC check, it tells me that the Directx components are not installed properly. I'm pretty sure that Directx 9.0b is installed correctly because I haven't had any problems with it yet. If I need to reinstall Directx 9 again, can I just reinstall it over what I have now? Will it mess up anything?

basically it should not mess anything up,just try reinstalling.

preferably from the redistributable instead of the runtime. the redist is around 35mb and contains files for all os but will just install the required files.

What's the difference between the redistributable and the runtime?

Mine has said that since the dawn of time (at least since the dawn of my 8500 a couple years ago). I've never had a problem. I think it's where I fail the MMX test with my AthlonXP. I don't know if that is the way it's supposed to be, but i've never noticed anything working wrong.
