ATI Radeon Omega Drivers (Catalyst 4.1 Based)

Yep, the new drivers are ready to roll...

What's New? (2.5.14 / 2.5.33)
* Based on the Official Catalyst 4.1 drivers. (2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Updated the profiler utility to the latest version (1.3.19). (2k/XP)
* Changed/added some internal tweaks. (2k/XP)
* ALL the special Omega resolutions now have refresh rates ranging from 60Hz to 100Hz, no need to select them in the installer anymore. (2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Special resolutions now available for Flat Panel or Notebook displays. (2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Re-included the 9700-9800 soft mod by popular demand. (2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Did one LAST Omega Driver set for Win9x/ME since I did some mistakes in the previous "last" release. (9x/ME)
* Hope to have fixed the installation problems in Win9x/ME. (9x/ME)
* Removed Refresh Force from the package since I think is no longer necessary, Multires supports refresh rate locking, plus the ATI drivers also include a refresh override feature. (2k/XP)
* Removed some language files that are no longer required. (2k/XP/9x/ME)

As you can see I have decided to do one last release of the Win9x/ME drivers, this is because the previous set had a small error in the installer.

As always you can get them at my site along with more mirrors or in DH Downloads page.

P.S.
I had a surprise for this release, but something didn't went as expected, so I'll add the surprise in a future update of this set or along with the next ATI release, depending on how much time I have to hold it...

First quick test:

- installed new Omegas over the v2.5.04 Omegas
- tested on my Notebook (PIII 1000 / Radeon 9000 mobility)

- quality seems nice
- first 3DMark 2001 improves performance from 5163 >> 5271 (over 1000 pts - impressive)

further tests will follow tomorrow with my 9800XT System. Good Night All - Thanks to Omega.

Well, the only game I play is NASCAR Racing 2003. I went from the Omega 3.9s to the Omega 4.1s. Did a controlled benchmark with FRAPS and a specific replay file I use.

Bottomline, I lost almost 7 FPS with the 4.1s over the 3.9s with the same settings. Not sure what's up with that.

.....with the Cat 4.1 the overdrive tab gave the core clock. With these it says "gear1" and then overclocked it says "gear3". Just noticed it.......

Unfortunately I can't test Overdrive since I have a 9700P, I just add it to the drivers in the same way ATI does, if it doesn't work, sorry

Hi, Omegadrive,

I just installed the XP drivers on my 9600 Pro.

I uninstalled ATi's Control Panel prior to installing these 'over the top'. The OpenGL and 3D tabs are now separate in the Control Panel instead of unified. Should they be?

Also, THANK YOU for putting the Rotation controls back in!

I'll do some more with these and get back soon.

The download keeps timing out for the 9x/ME drivers. That's what I need for my RADEON VIVO system.

Yes, is like that, I refuse to use the ATI built-in profiler until it works like it was meant to be, that's why I ship the drivers with a FULL profiler utility.

Do these drivers help out the AA issue that the last few ATI drivers have had? (the ATI CP not forcing AA in many games)

--If not, can you make the drivers force AA on with any of the tweaks you use Omega? Just wondering, if you could I would probbaly only use your drivers from now on no matter what.

Can't wait to download and install these and test them out.
