Default Post Not working well after flashing....

I got a "PowerColor Radeon 8500LE 64MB 250/250" video card and I started to play with the BIOS thing these days. I flashed my card with a retail 7004/7008 BIOS but there are "dots" flashing around the screen when playing 3D games. The textures are all corrupted when benchmarking with 3DMark 2001SE. I did try lower the clock speed and ram speed back to 250/250 but still the same (Surprisingly enough it works well if I just o/c the PowerColor BIOS to 275/275). Does that mean my card can't use with the ATI retail BIOS? Please help and thanks!!

I had the same problem, and I have a retail (well, brown box but the product ID is retail) 8500. Some of the BIOS'es out there are just no good.

Try to get the Saphire 7008 BIOS, it's worked well for me so far.

Yes, I just tried the 7.008 BIOS (link included after text) and it is working remarkably well. Not only are my in-game artifacts gone, but the icky shimmery effect at the edge of windows when accessing the control panel and some menus is now gone as well. Display is rock solid and actually a bit crisper (although that's a totally subjective observation).

I recommend it highly.

Update: Sorry, link was wrong. It's fixed now!

Gurm,

Would you please send me the 7008 bios directly to my mailbox since I couldn't have access to the site that you provided. It would be highly appreciated. Thanks!!!
