2 Display adapters in device manager??

I have the newest omega drivers installed for my Ati 9500 NP, and I have 2 display adapters listed in device manager. Is this normal?

One says: Radeon 9500 - Secondary (Omega 2.5.14) and the other just says: Radeon 9500 (Omega 2.5.14) I only play one game online, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield, and I am getting general protection faults all the time. I had them with the previous drivers too, but it is somewhat of a new problem. I don't think my problem is with these new drivers, but didn't know why there are 2 listed in device manager. Any thoughts? Thanks

That is how it's supposed to be. You're in good shape!

Cool!

You can disable the 'secondary' if you don't need it, i.e single monitor.

Disable the secondary and see if affects your primary, if it does then re-enable it, but it doesn't need to be installed at all

Same problem-two devices listed

Hello,

This seems to be the same problem that I have. I have a Sapphire 9800 pro (new), and originally installed the 4.3 cats. Worked great. I then installed the 4.3 Omega's (overwriting per instructions and uninstalling the control panel first), then tried the 4.2 omegas. I liked the 4.3 cats on my machine better (not taking anything away from Omega - the man has done a wonderful job on these drivers). Some machines just work better with different drivers. Anyway, I had restore points for all driver installations. I restored back to the 4.3 cats, instead of uninstalling the omegas (saw a warning about that somewhere). I must stress that the machine has not had any blue screens etc. I did notice that the device is showing up twice in device manager. I uninstalled, used driver cleaner, shut off system restore, etc., to get rid of the old files. Even went into the registry and deleted all ATI references. I did, however, find 2 omega files left after installation (deleted them). I wonder at this point if I should reinstall the driver, run cleaner, etc., or just disable the secondary. The card works great, but the images don't seem to be as crisp as they were when I first installed it.
One thing that I noticed was that under each of the devices resources, one had the IRQ's and I/O's, and the other just had memory range.
Glad I bought an ATI - the card is sooo much better than the Ti-4200 nvidia, and the drivers are much better .

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Olds

It's normal Olds.... it shows to devices because the video card has dual Ramdacs... and esentially is 2 video cards... you can succesfully run 2 3D Accelled programs at the same time on 2 different monitors... Nothing to worry bout for the device... .don't try to disable it....
