I can see the waves from the refresh rate on the monitor, i tried to link the monitor to the dvi exit and still the problem is there. Possibly, and this could be a stretch, try plugging the monitor into another outlet somewhere. When I had a similar problem, that was all it really was. There was some kind of interference going on.

Other things that MIGHT help.

Don't run power cords and the monitor or other system cables parallel, keep them as far away from each other as possible. If they MUST cross each other, do an absolute crossing "+".

Move your PC away from the monitor, it could be that the new video card (or some other component) really throws out the RF/EMI interference.

Does that 9800se use the extra 12volt plug on it? Try a different plug, the one you're using may be connected to something that is slurping lots of power, causing inconsisent power. If you're out of spare 12volt taps, try switching the ones already connected to various components around.

Possibly the power supply is straining itself to provide power. Many power supplies don't actually do what they say they can or their amp ratings are too low on the rails, especially if it's of an older generation. Use something like an Antec TruPower or an EnerMax (I'm sure some members here can suggest other high quality PSU's) and maybe push about 500watts or more.

Hope something here helps ya.

Could be but that’s close being within spec, and you really need to test with a DVM it's a lot more accurate. The board’s sensors are good but they are uncaliberated and the reading can’t be fully relied on

Make sure that you have the latest bios for your board; and there is not anything that could be interfering with in 3 feet. Also make sure you cords aren’t a tangled mess. Cords can cross but should only do so a right angles to reduce EMI. Make sure there is nothing in the pci slot next to your video card.

There was someone with similar issues and fixed it with a bios update….

(also might try lowering your overclock)

Move any kind of desktop lamp well away from the monitor, cables and pc itself. If you have one that is. and unplug it from the wall outlet as well.

Just wanted to mention that powered FANS always cause major issues on computer monitors .. but its so bad it would be obvious that was the cause.

Is it near a TV?

I mean as in within a few feet.

I just setup a system with a 9600XT where the monitor was doing this and it turned out it was his TV putting out interference.

As soon as he turned it off it worked just fine. So now he can only have one on at a time.

I had a similar problem - solved it by moving my speakers .

You not just got the refresh rate set to high for your monitor? I could put mine up from 75 to 85 but I'd get a wavey line appear and its distracting.
