Need some help

I went form omega 3.10 drivers to 4.1 drivers. After the 4.1 drivers I lost about 300 points in 3dmark01.

Ive read that the 3.7 and 3.5 omega drivers are good for benching.

Trouble is after uninstalling 4.1 drivers, running cab cleaner and driver cleaner I cannot install any drivers other than 4.1. Ive tried 3.10, 3.7, 3.5.

I always receive this message.
"INF effor video driver not found."

Then this one: "setup not able to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter in a standard VGA driver before running setup."

I went into device manager/display adapter and uninstalled that but did that did not help.

Anyone know what I need to do to be able to install the 3.7 drivers?

have you rebooted and let it install the default drivers?

Also only 300 points?

I can sneeze and 01 will swing 500 points

and no Im NOT exaggerating.

Seriously you dont play 3DMark.

Get FRAPS and check your frame rates.

If they are playable then it doesnt really matter :P

From what ive seen in my opinion 4.1 seems to run games alot smoother than previous versions. So if a few hundred points drop because of this, im not complaining.

you should try catalyst uninstaller as well next time its available on ati.com

same problem here...cant install any drivers...doesnt matter if i try omega oder ati or whatever..."install vga drivers first"...k...i know how to do that, but my f*ck*d up windows XP doesnt seem to like me, so i cant install anything...

I can install the 4.1 drivers but nothing under that. I've tried driver cleaner, cab cleaner, and ati's uninstall.

But cant install any other of the lower omega drivers.
