The drivers are ready, here is the info:
What's New? (2k/XP 2.5.22 & 9x/ME 2.5.37) * Based on the Official Catalyst 4.2 drivers. (2k/XP/9x/ME) * Removed 3DProfiler from the package. (2k/XP) * Surprise: Included an exclusive Omega version of RadLinker. (2k/XP/9x/ME) Many thanks to ChrisW! * For stability's sake, forced Fastwrites OFF for ALL cards and forced it ON for all 9600 cards. (2k/XP) * Removed the 9700->9800 soft mod option again. (2k/XP/9x/ME) * Did one LAST Omega Driver set for Win9x/ME "AGAIN" since I did some mistakes in the previous "last" release. (9x/ME) * Hope to have fixed the installation problems in Win9x/ME "AGAIN". (9x/ME) * Added the Multires utility to the Win9x/ME package. (9x/ME) * Separated the D3D/OGL CP tabs now that RadLinker takes care of the profiles. (9x/ME) * Added support for 9800SE cards that have been bios-modded to 9800XT. (2k/XP/9x/ME) * Added support for the following FireGL cards: (2k/XP) RADEON FireGL T2 RADEON FireGL X1-128 RADEON FireGL X1-256 RADEON FireGL X2-256 RADEON FireGL Z1-128p RADEON Mobility Fire GL 9000 RADEON Mobility Fire GL T2 Get them on my site with the mirrors or just get them on DH downloads page. Enjoy! P.S. I just removed the installer option for the 9700->9800 soft-mod, but if you still want it, just use the 9800SE soft mod instead, it's THE SAME P.P.S. STOP complaining about the forced FastWrites setting!!! Just try the drivers like this and see if they work better, FASTWRITES DOES NOT IMPROVE PEFORMANCE, but it affects stability A LOT, in fact, most crashes in games and applications happen because it is enabled.

Judas, thanks for the mirror. It is fast and dependable!
EDIT: I missed some of the discussion about IE. I use IE 6 Beta and downloaded without a hitch.

Since I never once had a problem with fastwrites on my 9700 Pro, how do I get around your choosing for me wether I want it on or not? Or is there some conflict between it and some of the modifications to settings you have made?
I assume its just some registry setting, off to dig through the registry. |

Few frames per second increase in some things is good enough for me, especially considering I never once had a problem with it. Why not make it an option in the installer and make it clear that it may cause stability problems for some people. It certainly never has for me, so why should I be forced to live with it off. About to go back to the stock 4.2's because for some reason the multimonitor control panel disappeaing only seems to affect the omega's...and this fastwrites thing.

Best way to install omega driver?
What is the best way to install omega driver?
Run the uninstall in control panel on omega and install the latest or dont care abt the uninstall and directly install the latest omega or uninstall omega, uninstall catalyst, run driver cleaner to clear all and install the new omega?? Thanks... |

Thanks once again Omega. Had to do a double take when I saw the release of these driver-sets.
Very Nice. No problems so far

Can't install them, when it gets to the ATI driver installation it takes a very long time before showing up the Continue installing driver screen, then another long break before installing the Secondary driver.
After that it comes up with a message saying it couldn't install and asked me to use a standard driver first. any ideas? |

Thanks Omega! I didn't even get around to installing the ATi Cat 4.2's- I'll just install these right over the Omega's based on the 4.1's...

To enable Fast Writes, just click on "Retest All" in the Smartgart tab and restart your computer.
