Painkiller demo + Omega 4.2
I dont know I try to play the game but it says cannot initialize video device? Anyone else have this problem? ATI 9600 + 1.7ghz Pentium 4.

nope ....

sound like it not detecting the video or you installed the game then chaged your driver

i'd try to uninstall and then reinstall the game ...

The game ran fine for me under omegas on my 9600xt

I'm playing it fine on my 9600 Pro with the official ATi drivers.

Are you sure your video card is set to Primary Display Adapter?

I understand and that's why I said I'm using the official ones. I've used Omega's for years but usually try to use the official ones for a least a week before switching over.

My main point of the question was, is your video card recognized as the Primary Display Adapter?

Yes I think it is, how do I check? In DX Diag this says its the primary display driver.

That's as good a place as any to check it out.

I'm installing Omega's right now...give me a few moments to check the demo.

EDIT and Update: After the initial install of Omega's and a reboot, the demo would not start. I got the same error message you reported. I simply rebooted once again and the demo is running fine so far.

Hmmm... I rebooted but the same thing happens again. Usually when this happened with the old Omega's I would just use 3d profiler to run the game but seeing as I uninstalled that app and cant find it again...

I just played the first part of Level 3 (in the arena area) with Omega's 4.2 without any problem at all.

Ugh... anyone know what the cause of the problem is? Or where I can find 3d profiler? Nevermind, I did a full reinstall of the drivers and it works fine now. =D
