Hey Cyborg,I found a way to install the new Plutoniums with out the greyed out Dx Acceleration features or the ATI Smart Gart utility being ddisabled,It seems that the catalysts are really picky about the way you install updates.I tried doing it like you by just overwriting the previous drivers, without uninstalling them, but even though the DX Acceleration functions were not greyed out anymore,The ATI Smart Gart still didn't work.So I just followed the suggestions in the 2nd page of the UNINSTALL GUIDE posted by Gurm,Thank's,I hope this helps people with similar problems.
OH just in case here's the link: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/thread.php?id=1953&p=2

I think people who have problems with any driver should try to uninstall them properly and then reinstall them... I never said that everybody who doesn't uninstall his drivers "correct" has heavy problems....

I must say i am dissappointed with the omega corner. I've been downloading their voodoo drivers, and they kick ass. However, their radeon drivers have really become unstable.

I'm looking into that directX9 driver right now, but I cant find a good link for directx9 (win2k).

Default Post No Radeon

Okay, I got a really freaky problem with these new drivers. When I installed them, my games started saying that there was no Radeon present in the system. But if I went into display properties it says there is a Radeon. Any suggestions, because I had to uninstall these and go back to official Catalyst 2.2 drivers.

I am going to work heavily on the next set to increase stability, but I think ATI needs to work out a few of the bugs in these Catalyst drivers.

Yeah, some people need to cut Cyborg some slack.

For me, ALL the new drivers work well, his are simply tweaked the best.

If you have a degenerate system on which your Radeon works flakily, nothing he does is going to help you.

I see people bitching, saying that his drivers don't work, but then they admit that NONE of the Catalysts work for them. Well BIG surprise!

Drop back to the last O/P based on non-catalyst drivers then!

Sheesh. His drivers are simply the best of what ATI has to offer. If ATI's drivers suck ass on your machine, there's not a lot anyone can do to help you.

Try to figure out why ATI's drivers suck so much on your machine, before bashing Cyborg. Ok?

Does cyborg still intend on releasing a plutonium based on the WQHL 6118's? It's been a while, and from what I understand, all thats needed is the replacement of certain files.

I have this problem using O/P's 1.1.18 with directdraw. There is no support for some resolutions (examle 640x480).
I am using Radeon 8500LE (BBA) and WinXP.
This didn't happen before, just this time.
Any ideas?

P.S.
I don't need 640x480, but Diablo II can't be run without a support for it...

I would like to know this as well, currently I am still with the Ati 6118 drivers (first build). I would like to update to the WHQL plutonium set. Or will the next plutonium set be of a different driverset (6136/6143 maybe)??

Hi all,

I was talking to a guy in the irc chat room today. He was having troubles getting this driver to download, it kept redirecting him back to the download page. I tried it and couldn't get it to work either.

Default Post Trouble downloading Drivers

Ok maybe I'm retarded or something but I can not find any links on the download page for the new drivers. All I get is some dates and a description of the drivers but no links. Where do I download the new drivers??

Thanks

Ok never mind I found another post here from someone else who had the same problem and there was a direct link where I was able to download them.

Thanks

Well I think the 7000 Pro is just a typo, but I also released these with support for the 9000/9700, before they were actually released, I cant really try it, as I dont have either, but I'll work on some things and hopefully have it resolved in the next set.

Default Post COUNTER-STRIKE problem

Well.. tried the new Omega/Plutonium XK1.1.18 driver and I have no installation problems. It prompted me after the installation for the capture drivers to which I responded by installing the tv-capture-wdm-6-13-10-6125v4 driver. Everything was sweet until I started playing counter-strike. It happens after playing for about 4-8 minutes, the system hangs and then the freakin memory dump thing comes up. Happens with other games as well. Whetehr its direct or opengl. hmmm.... anyways, would appreciate some input from the xprts... cheers..

Default Post problems???

Well I cannot help save to say, with the new 2.3 i get the same slow 2d desktop, and random crashes.
But what i do know is that the asus a7v133 kt133 via's have problems with quite a few AGP cards, aka i could not use a Ti 4600, or my old kyro 2 under anything newer than ME. This happens to be a hardware bug, all you can try to do is update to 1009 bios, latest 4-in-1 and hope it works...

other option, is new mobo.
