exclamation Problem with VPU Recovery

Ever since there is a new function in the drivers called VPU recovery I get a lot of resets during games. All was fine with the drivers without this function. Does anyone have the same problem? Could it be that the function wrongly thinks the VPU isn't responding and it resets it while it shouldn't?

There is also another problem with this function. When it resets the VPU it offers me to send an error report to ATI. But when I click send only and empty Mozilla window opens and nothing happens.

I forgot to mention that games (Neverwinter Nights and Jack The Ripper are causing resets frequently) run just fine if I disable the feature in control panel.

Whenever I try to use VPU recover, I get reboots and BSOD's while playing games (I've NEVER seen WinXP BSOD before VPU recover), I've even gotten a couple while browsing the web with it on. I turn VPU recover off and the problem goes away and the system appears stable and the games don't crash. I have no clue what's up with that. But yeah, I have problems with VPU recover too, I just don't use it, that seems to be the ultimate solution. I chalked it up to being that my card didn't support the function correctly or something, but I've read alot of posts saying that VPU recover causes more problems than it solves. So I think it just needs some more tweaking from ATI before it works correctly at this point. It IS a relatively new feature.

OK at least it is good to know that I am not alone with this problems. Offcourse it would be the best if they solve the problems with it. For now I'll just leave it disabled and check out again when new drivers are out. I also hope they make it more compatible with other browsers by then.

just disable it.. it's working fine for me, but i've heard about many cases where it doesn't work. maybe you need IE to send the error report.

Well I have Radeon 8500 64MB Built by ATI. I use it in a computer with Abit KT7A-RAID and AMD Athlon 1200 and 512 MiB of memory and Windows XP Pro. I also tried it in another computer with MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R and Athlon 64 3000+ and 1024 MiB of memory and the problem remains the same, I also have Radeon 9600XT and this one works just fine in both computers and even with Catalysts 4.2.
