radeon 9600 pro driver problem

first of all hello to everyone. this is my very first post and i need help on a problem i have.

here are the specs that matter:

ecs l7vta (via kt400)
his excalibur radeon 9600 pro 128
windows xp pro sp 1

i've installed drivers for cat 3.6 and earlier and everything works fine on my system. same goes for the omega drivers based on these versions.

but since cat 3.7 and up to 4.2, including omega, i would get artifacts in whatever game i play. but when i switch back to cat 3.6 everything is fine again.

could anybody tell me why this is happening? thanks in advance.

Welcome to dh!

hmm ... not shure ... make sure you've got all the latest bios/chipset drivers and use driver cleaner and reboot before you change ati drivers

plese tell us more what do you mean by artifacting? and do you have any screen shots or could you get some? could help us figure out what is going wrong
