Problems with Omega Drivers 2522 and Radeon AIW 9800 SE

Hello

I have an ATI Radeon AIW 9800 SE

I have installed the Omega drivers 2522 (using the 9800 SE soft mod) and now the TV tuner doesn't work: when launching the TV app (included in the MMC) it doesn't detect the tuner and I can not configure the TV channels. It worked with a previous version of Omega drivers (based on Catalyst 3.9)

My configuration:
- ASUS A7N8x Deluxe
- Barton 2500+
- 2x256 Mo DDR RAM
- Radeon AIW 9800 SE
- Sound Blaster Audigy Player
- Windows XP Pro SP1
- Omega drivers 2522
- TV capture WDM 6.14.10.6227
- MMC 8.9

Has anybody an idea of why my TV tuner doesn't work anymore

Yep your right I had the same problem with my ATI AIW 9800Pro with normal install I reverted back to the Stock Ati 4.2 and the Tuner now works

! Im sure Omega will work this out!

I finally found why the tuner doesn't work:
- I've bought my Radeon AIW 9800 SE 3 months ago: after installing everything was OK
- The last week-end I has to re-install my PC: I installed the latest Omega drivers (based on Catalyst 4.2) and DirectX 9.0b and I forgot to install the K825116 patch (if this patch is not installed, the tuner does not work with DirectX 9.0b). After installing this patch (which can be found on the Microsoft web site) everything is OK and my TV tuner is working again.

I hope this can help !!!

That patch is for PAL cards I thought? I have NTSC and I have no Tuner with the Omegas here Check this link out! DX9b and AIW Card

I tried the hotfix with the latest Omega set.
But what's really weird....

The first time i started mmc +tv (after the search 4 channels was done) everything worked ok (even without the hotfix)

Then afterwards i upped the omega set to v2.5.36b it stopped working.
It starts up I can see the channel for about 3 seconds and then mmc closes itself, but the sound of the channel continues ???????

When i restart mmc (v8) the sound stops a moment and then i can see the channel again for about 3 secs, then it closes itself again.

So i removed all drivers and cleaned up with drivercleaner.
After the reboot I reinstall everything with the newest versions found on the net. (so mmc8 is upped to mmc9). Again same behaviour........

fyi. I have an Hercules 9800se AIW softmodded to 9800Pro AIW.

Second weird thing with my card is, that i can overclock the core/memory to insane hights and the artifact tester still says no artifacts detected. Even when I can see some artifacts on the desktop.

The artifacts are only visible in the titlebars of apps (pink dots,squares etc.) and in internet explorer (can even really mess up the layout of a site, like Big fonts ?, all kinds of interferrence (blue,pink, orange).
But when i play a game like farcry (with max settings everywhere) i can play for hours without artifacts ????
other game i tested without artifacts is Counterstrike.
I tried some other games (don't remember wich) but I never see artifacts in-game, only on the desktop in title-bars and in internet-explorer.
I tried downclocking, extreme cooling (so temps aren't any problem) and even overclocking doesn't make things worse, stays the same. I also played with all sorts of settings, wich helped other people remove their artifacts.
The only thing i can do is remove the softmod, then it works ok.
Is one of the pipes broken (why don't i see things like checkerboard) ?
As I said it's only visible in titlebars of apps and in internet-explorer (not on all sites though)

Hope somebody knows what to do
