Default Post ATI BIOS Identification (sticky plz)

It is time for some fresh air in here ...

This Thread is for ALL Radeon Cards available ... so please read on, if you own ANY Radeon Card ...

I started some sort of ATI BIOS Identification Project a few weeks ago. Target for this Project is to clarify the exact rules how ATI BIOSes are marked. Recently finished the BIOS ID Identification and I'll post it tonight, when I am at home. I also generated a list of available ATI BIOSes found on Rage3D/Driverheaven/ATi-News.

Next step would be the COLLECTING process ... and there is where YOU are required now ...
For getting a nearly perfect list (and describtions) of available BIOSes, I ask you to send me your BIOS. When we all help together, we are able, to bring light in the dark halls of ATI BIOSes ...

First of all, I need a dump of your BIOS. To do so, you have to grab a copy of RadEdit v1.1 (http://www.radeon2.ru ... in the upper left corner is a link). With this utility you are able to grab your current ATI BIOS into a file. Just start RadEdit press the Current Button, and see all the Fields filling with information. (if there occurs an error, you don't have a radeon graphiccard, or an error occurd that I cannot describe ... :>) ... and be warned ... this utility is able to damage your BIOS (in only very rare cases!!!) so, don't play around with it, if you don't know exactly what to do ... so no warranty from me, if you damage something (I play around with this util for a year now, and have nothing damaged ...)
Now press the "SAVE ..." Button ... and save it to a file. Now add it to a mail with the exact description of your card (e.g. ATI Radeon 8500LE 128MB). Please also mention if your card is from a 3rd Party Vendor or not. (built by ATI or powered by ATI).

E-Mail Address : nls@gmx.ch and if my new e-mail account works : TeamBIOS@gmx.net (will be avail' tomorrow)

Please also mention in this E-Mail if the BIOS is modified or not ... e.g. Core/Memory Clock changed, VendorID changed,...

When I receive your E-Mail I will check the BIOS ... compare it do my BIOS Identification list, and post the exact BIOS information with your NickName (if you don't want to be mentioned in this thread, drop me a line in the mail).

The BIOS Identification list, with my findings will be posted tonight, so don't blame me for the rare information now ...

Maybe this project works ... hope so ...
Greetings

Greetings

Sucks to be me, I'm running Windows 2000 SP3 and it keeps saying BIOS Reconstruction Failed.

Never flashed my card, never done a thing to it.

Looking at radclk.exe I don't see how i can just SAVE the bios from a Floppy Disk... Any thoughts?

Of course the standard,

ATI Radeon VIVO AGP with 64meg of DDR,
Windows 2000 SP3 with Administrator Access,
Omega Plutonium Drivers 1.1.07rr3

BIOS Version: 001.001.000.053
BIOS Part Number: 11370702100
BIOS Date: 2000/07/13

Thanks

Default Post videorom.bin

Just have a look in your root directory (c: or d. There might be a file called videorom.bin. This is your graphic card's BIOS. No need to use RadEdit. I think Windows creates that file automatically (works 2k as well as XP).

Default Post Radclk

I've been looking at the usage of Radclk and i don't see how i can get it to dump the bios.

As for RadEdit it doesn't seem to want to reconstruct the BIOS, as it says.

Infact it never wants to Reconstruct the BIOS, and I don't have Windows 9x installed which i imagine it would work with.

I don't have videorom.bin as for I have checked that theory, any ideas?

Since i would like to update my BIOS someday since this BIOS is pretty pretty old and seems to be one of their first for the RADEON line from appearance.

Thanks!

Looking forward to that list. If anyone got a bios for a Sapphire 250/200 8500LE with part# 1024-6149-20-SA please submit/post it (seems like the card wont work with other bioses even if I set them at the cards default speed).

Default Post Bios Heaven

I found a major source of Bioses for the radeon line
Head Over to Radeonthetop

It's a French Site But if you head over to Google First you can get it translated They have 41 Different Radeon Bioses ... they're still missing alot but it's a great resource

I have nearly all the (Retail) 8500 Ntsc Bioses if you need any of them

Sounds good... gotta have a look at it.
...
Looks nice. If you want a good laugh, click on the English or German flag at the top! In German, it translates "Bios" as "two-bone"... or one card is actually named "His Excellency"...

I would need Pal and not NeverTheSameColor, but it looks like you can change that in RadEdit... anyway, would you happen to have the 1009 bios for a normal (no AIW) 64MB Radeon8500 (no LE)? Read on some site that it should have the best performance, compared with other bioses...

Whatever happened to the list after we submitted our BIOS's? I'm curious mainly because we did all that work (atleast i went thru atleast 10loops) to get the BIOS out, and i was curious what the fruits of our labor have become.

If you h0lyone have the web site up let us know the url, if not... let us know.
