Omega 4.2/DXDiag/3Dmark 2001se problem

I am using Omegas 4.2 on Windows 98SE. DxDiag tells me that the driver does not support DX9 and the driver will not run 3Dmark 2001se build 330. I realize that my 8500 does not support DX9 but the DX 9 3d test use to run with his drivers.

I was also unable to play BF 1942. I reverted back to Omega 3.10 and all is well.

I assume that you’re referring to the “Direct 3D Test” in DxDiag?
If so, my ATI Radeon 8500 64MB (Dell Dimension XPS-T/ P3-1GHz) presently has no problems with the Omega 4.2 in Win98SE... although I don't play games on it.
I have a screenshot of the DxDiag Display test results. (click here)

When I first installed the Omega 4.2 drivers… it failed the entire Direct 3D Test. (I’ve experienced this once in a while with new driver installs… more with the past ATI Catalyst versions.)
I then ran the Omega installation program to overwrite the same files. I don’t remember if I installed it manually the first time. Although... I do remember using Driver Cleaner before the installation… like I always do (since DC version 0.5.3).

Aloha,
Rod

Thanks for the info Rod. The reason why I posted the problem is because Omega did have a problem with one of his 98 drivers I thought this might be another one. Not to many of us run Windows 98 and a 8500. We are a rare breed.
