3DMark03 problem with 9800 PRO

Hi all,

Strange problem I'm having since I installed my new ATI Radeon 9800 PRO - 128Mb.
When I'm trying to benchmark my videocard with 3DMark03, the test starts well, but after the first test with the airplaines, I'm ejected into Windows again ! No way to go farder than the first test. I changed my refrech rate from 85Hz to 70Hz, no change. I also tried to reduce screen resolution till 800 x 600, nope...
At least I've installed 3DMark2001SE, and that one works marvelous ! My videocard is working well in all conditions. I'm using the latest Omega drivers based on the catalyst 4.2.
This is my pc configuration: Mainboard ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe - AMD 3000XP Barton - 1GB Mem 400 Mhz - Audygy2 - ATI 9800 PRO - HD 120GB - 7200rpm/8Mb cash - OS: Windows XP PRO - 19" CRT screen.

Does anyone has any idea about this, because I never had this problem before..?

Thanks

Jabba.

System Specs

It can happen if your RAM Timings are too agressive. Relax them a little bit and see if that works. 3dmark03 is good for testing that sort of thing.

No, its definitely your RAM. Relax the timings a bit.

I third that, its ur RAM timings...I have had pretty good number of lockups when I set my RAM to very aggressive timings though sometimes, it doesnt really matter with the games I play

Hi peeps,

thx for replying to help me out of this problem. I would like to try to relax my RAM, but can you tell me if it is the RAM of the videocard, or the fisical RAM of my pc I need to relax. Tell me also how to do if possible..Sorry, but I'm really noob with ATI videocards, and also with this benchmark stuff....

Thx in advance,

Jabba.
