have you tried deleting it and downloading a new copy of the drivers? could just be a corrupt download...

this doesn't sound related to the card.. looks like a curruption as it hasn't even attempted to try and install the drivers.... Just download the latest cats... or try the latest omegas (highly recommended)

perhaps you have insufficient power.... Power Supply wattage? Generally... depending on the video card previous... and the new... sometimes a Reinstall of windows is needed.. however.. i must point out that some "dell" for example.. Windows Install disks are prone to cause problems with installs as they try to force drivers....

i can boot and use windwos fine with the card, if the power supply wasn't good enough it wouldn't even boot.
the xp cd is a RETAIL one |

retail.. that's good.. as for PSU.. not nessarly.... i've seen living proof of a psu being strong enough to get into windows.... and gernally do majority of what needs to be done...however.. soon as entering a game or stressing the card... (basscally getting the computer to talk directly to it)...... it results in lockups or instant reboots.... it's all VERY various..... i recommend a backup of everything you want kept.. and a deletion of the Partitions on the hardrive... repartition.. format.. and install....

Load default settings in BIOS, then try to install again. If it fails take your card to a friend, I'm sure he will be happy to try it. If it fails again you know what to do.

it couldn't possibly be the card.... as the installer isn't even being initialized do to being corrupt..... iether your PSU isn't pusshing the numbers it should... or you got bigger fish to fry ....as either you HD is getting hosed... or the IDE controller is or something isn't right at all...

Back To ATI

The agp port may not be communicationg correctly, or perhaps as mention the chip isnt communication right. i would try to reinstal your inf Drivers, or look fo a newer set of all your drivers and bios updates on the manufacturers website for your board.

well thats a installer error... And i beleave its a result of a known bug in the Installshield setup...
Try this Disable the "Print Spooler" service before running the ATI installer. Open Control Panel: Start --> Settings --> Control Panel Double-click Administarteive tools Double-click "Services" On the list of Services, right-click "Print Spooler" Select "Stop" Select "Properties" Under Startup Type, select "manual" or "disabled" Reboot your system After rebooting, verify that the Print Spooler is still "stopped". Re-run the ATI installer. If you have a printer, After installation, re-set the Print Spooler service to Startup type "Automatic" and start the service, If you don't have a printer you can leave that service off this should (with any luck) solve your problem |
