Could there be a conflict with the drivers and the chipset drivers that I have downloaded?
Install the Dell chipset drivers again after the video card drivers.

smooth set of drivers!

these omegas run better on my setup than the official 4.5 cats.
a lot smoother for me in games like morrowind and cs.

thanks!

I can't seem to get radlinker to work with 4.5, I did a clean install from 4.4, uninstalling both omega and radlinker so there shouldn't be a conflict there.. any suggestions?

By not working I mean, I set an o/c and hit set, then I hit the bios (I think it's bios) so that it pops up saying it will boot with those new settings but on restart it goes back to the normal clock speed and the checkmark to allow for an o/c is unchecked.

WinXP Pro SP1 w/updates
Abit nf7-s w/ 2500+ barton @ 2.36ghz
9800 Pro

Thanks.. if you can help

??? problems with this new version

I have a Radeon 8500 (64MB version), running under Windows XP SP1, with an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ CPU.

I installed this new Omega driver directly on top of the previous set.

After installing I tried running the 3DMark 2001 SE benchmark, and it gave a message that it couldn't run because some required Direct-X features could not be detected.

I ran DXDiag.exe, and it didn't show any problems with Direct-X (I have version 9.0b installed).

I reinstalled the Omega driver again, and tried running 3DMark 2001 SE again, and got the same result.

A little while later, I tried running the benchmark again - and this time it ran - albeit slowly.
The benchmark results are a lot slower than before (~ 7900).

I may have to go back to a previous version.

Just re-install the AGP chipset drivers for your MB, that will fix it.

My thoughts exactly, it just seems like a broken record repeating itself but oddly enough after installing new video card drivers if you notice visable refreshing on screen and performance loss it usually tied the the Chipset AGP driver needed a fresh install

I am having problems reverting back from Omega 4.5 to the official Catalysts(tried 3.7,4.3,4.4,4.5). Everytime I install the official drivers, it boots with the default XP drivers and says device cannot start! If I install omegas again, it works. I tried using drivercleaner to remove and also followed the guide but this happens whatever I do. It'll always show device cannot start.

Did you use the cab cleaner? It took me about 1/2 hour the first time I did it- It takes a while, but it works.

Can anyone (who maybe even had experience with this problem) REALLY help me?
Still no solutions?

Anyone...?

NO Fire GL Support???

Is it just my system or do these drivers not correctly detect or support my Fire GL X2-256 card? I have to manually select the driver fro mthe Omega installation directory, but then I don't get HTDV support in my displays tab and no DirectX, OpenGL, VPU, etc tabs in control panel. If I install drivers as Radeon 9800 Pro, HDTV support works, but still no OpenGL and no DirectX, OpenGL, VPU, etc tabs in control panel? Anything I can do to enable these tabs, keep HDTV support and get my OpenGL games to work? Thanks.

Sorry, this was my mistake, there is support for FireGL cards on my set, but is partially broken, not all cards will work.
This will be fixed for my next set, FireGL support will be fully implemented.

I'm using these new ones, but am also using the latest Radlinker to force Aniso and Temp2 4xAA.
Far Cry...Painkiller...GTR Demo...and the usual all run great, and look friggin incredible relatively.

As always...appreciate the work Omega...

BTW...what are the 2.0sahder options? Does this force 2.0 in say a DX8 game, or is only for certain
titles with specfic code?

Also...a little light shed on the 16,24,32,8-bit stencil settings and all others would be cool.

so what? k, breed is not cutting edge, but wtf ?
germans do not only produce the best cars in the world - there are enough examples of bad software coming from the u.s.a.
what about far cry?

sorry for being so rude - but that was necessary!

btw: bmw is crap - there is only one real bavarian car brand: AUDI

My friend.
You're not rude at all.
It's okay.

But, please don't argue with me when it comes to hardware on the asphalt.

The fast cars that Audi produces rely for 99% on turbo's...like their topmodel; the "RS6", for instance.
And if you take a BMW M3 CSL for instance...it packs a 112.5 HP a liter...wich came up 3rd on the Deutsche bahn in Frankfurt...right behind the Porsche GT2 (wich uses turbo's by the way)...
SO WHAT that the RS6 with 4.2 liter reaches 100 KM/H in 4.7 sec. and the M3 CSL with 3.2 liter in 4.9 sec. I don't like racin' on a straight line...I see more action in the curves. !!! WITHOUT ANY CRAP TURBO !!! Just PURE CILINDER-POWER!!! (Packs up with a better sound than turbo's actualy)

Don't get me wrong, Audi is a very very good car-brand. (I actualy owned an S3 2K and a TT Quatro)
But BMW is unbeatable when it comes to an all in one of speed, quality, low cost, low consuming, 100% power in EVERY gear, (high)class, very very eye-cathin' and drives super-smooth what makes you and your BMW one!

I actualy see Mercedes (and the rest) as nVidia and BMW as ATi.
nVidia = increasing MHz's and overclocking for speed (Mercedes (and the rest) increasing liters and turbo's)
ATi = increasing cutting edge techniques (BMW evolving their M-technology)

Guess I made my point clearly.

But you were right on the many mistakes that the US makes with some particular games.
Germany has made a lot of breaktrough software like "CloneCD" for instance.

But it's not a game.

(Now I'm waitin' for "Need for Speed: Underground 2" so I can play it on my PlayStation2 in my M5 2K1)

(Sorry if I'm commercing my stuff so much. But I like what I have and I'm not harsch by letting others know that)

Huh? You've never heard of the M series I take it? The best sport sedan in the world for the last 20years or so.. pretty much undisputed by anyone who knows anything about cars.

"Serious Sam : THe Second Encounter" FREEZES

Good DAy,

"Serious Sam : THe Second Encounter" FREEZES after a few minutes of gameplay and I have to reboot the computer.

Anybody else got this problem?

Reverting to OMEGA 4.4 (2.5.36b) remedies the problem.

Jazz

I'm sorry to This set of Drivers has been the Worse to install, I've used OD's drivers since the Rage Era but this set is preplexing even me. a Severe Error occures at end of installation suggesting I switch to stanard VGA before re attempting - Okay I've had to do that way back when a few times (after all I've been in the business of computer repair 18 years) after failing with that method I tryed some various others (roll back, driver cleaners, uninstall from device manager, read this entire page heavy fourm, ect) downloaded and install ATI's latest and had no problems ran pretty darn good. tried again same error! short of going thru the registry and deleting every referance to drivers, video, ect there's got to be a soultion that someone as figure'd out.

i also had a problem w/ the install for these babies. it worked fine in my gaming machine (which has a 9800pro) but wouldn't load on my older secondary pc (which is running a 9000 pro). they just simply wouldn't install the first two times, so i switched back to the 4.4's and they worked fine.

Yo Omega!
Workin' on da 4.6's?!

Hope these will be a lot better than the 4.5's.
Heard from allmost everywhere they were kind of crappy.

But no matter!
I never had da chance to use them anyway.
Since I had that error, remember?

I'm preparing my PC for a fresh and clean installation.
Just waitin' for your 4.6's now...

Hope to hear from ya soon!
C ya!

hmm

Omega I mentioned this problem in the 4.4 thread and one other user back me up on it as well, but you never replied (probably assumed the problem was related to something else, as the problem didn't exist until 4.4). In CoD the MP works fine (in 4.4 it did and I'll test it in this set as well), but the SP freezes at various points, generally when the german MGs start firing. I'm almost positive this is an issue with the drivers (might be ATI not just yours) as reverting to previous sets fixes the problem. Could someone here please try the CoD SP with the stock ATI 4.4s or 4.5s to help solve this. Thanks
