Refresh and resolution mod in Omega drivers

Hi,

My monitor support for ex. 132hz in 1024x768, but Radeon drivers (Omega or others) only shows: ...90,100,120 and 150 hz. Yes i can make 132hz using PowerStrip but it isn't solution for me.

In *.inf file we can find:

(...)
;--== New Video Modes Added ==--
; New Modes @ 75Hz
HKR,, DALNonStandardModesBCD2, %REG_BINARY%, 09,60,07,20,00,00,00,75,12,00,09,00,00,00,00,75,13 ,60,10,20,00,00,00,75,14,00,10,50,00,00,00,75,15,2 0,11,40,00,00,00,75
HKR,, DALDTMCRTBCD960x720x0x75, %REG_BINARY%, 00,00,00,00,00,00,12,80,00,00,09,60,00,00,10,16,00 ,00,01,04,00,00,07,52,00,00,07,20,00,00,07,21,00,0 0,00,03,00,00,72,19,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00, 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,ce ,18
(...)

How to modify that lines of new video modes to add 1024x768 with 132hz?
Or mayby better and easier using only regedit?

Welcome to DH nano24, perhaps you may want to send off a PM to Omega and see what he has to say

How do you know that 132hz is the highest for your monitor (what graphics card were you using previous since no other drivers show it as available? ) .... Also... majority of all the settings are predefined in the Monitor Driver file.... 132hz is EXTREMELY rare refresh rate, but you might be able to get 130hz if omega feels up to it..... Usually the settings go like this > 46hz>58hz>60hz>70>72>75>85>90>100>120>140>160>180> 200... 130hz would definitely be nice...

I only want to know the purpose behind this high (imo) mode?! Is it for gaming or is it for some other software?

Can you please explain WHY you need that refresh rate?

And don't tell me your eyes hurt at 120Hz

Also, Didn't you know that running the highest refresh rate your monitor supports ALL THE TIME stress the color ray tubes and decreases monitor life a GOOD amount?

I need it for FPS games like: Queake3 and RTCW and maybe others in future.

I can see diffrent between 100 and 132hz when i change it using PowerStrip - belive it or not, but I feel diffrent.

Its really doesn't matter. Its works perfectly when i got PowerStrip on tray but i want to change it without buying another program - only using drivers settings.
