VPU recover?!

I am having massive problems with some games because they freeze or crash with an error message from "vpu recover". Ok, so i want to disable that but it isnt possible because there is no folder or option to do that. I tried several drivers and control panels but it isnt possible to turn that f..... thing off! Could you plz tell me where i can disable it in the registry or is there some other way?
And no "you are too stupid to find it" comments plz

Right click on desktop and choose Properties/Settings/Advanced

Go into your ATi control panel and you should see this tab to disable VPU recovery

I know but i really really do not have this tab...i tried 4-5 different drivers and 3 control panels but nothing helped. Thats the reason why i asked if someone knows how to disable it in the registry. But thx for your attempt to help

Yeah I also have nothing but troubles with this VPU Recovery function. The card and games worked just fine when drivers didn't have it but now that they have I constantly get the errors and crashes. So I have to use older drivers that work fine. And if you look at Rage3D forums you will see that a lot of people have problems with this. I hope ATI fixes it soon or at least completely removes it from drivers if they can't get it working properly.

One way would be by disabling the system service named "Ati HotKey Poller". (WinXP/2000)
That would stop both the control panel hotkeys and the VPU recover from working.
