Here is my updated Catalyst Comparison with Catalyst 4.5 and 4.6.

Catalyst Comparison 3.0 - 4.6

I added an Image Quality Comparison of all Catalysts from 3.0 to 4.6 with some interesting results

Ahh, looks great! seems like the 4.6 are closing in one the performance of the 3.8s/3.9s (w/o the crashing issue those had in Call of Duty for instance) . So, this one has the new Control Panel?? sweet, time for a new driver methinks ^^

edit: no new CP then.. ah well, hope for the next release

Catalyst maker, when are you chaps going to fix the TV out black border issue to created in the 4.5 suite?

As I'm stuck using the 4.4 Cats, as all works with them....

No new control panel here (except for a new icon in the system tray... which is way to small imho)

Overall they seem pretty good as always...

that stinks.

Be sure to post back if you solve this issue, such an issue is enough to stop me from even thinking of upgrading.

I see they mention the gamma/brightness issue. Does this effect UT99? I would be a vary happy man if the gamma worked in OpenGL in that game(Since Direct3D has messed textures in allot of places)

I find myself perplexed as to why graphics drivers aren't close to perfect by now, I always lived with the impression that the APIs (DX & OGL) would make graphics work the same way... or are all the game graphics programmers just tools?

Not sure about shadow issues, but AA issues is something we can not help with. Its the game behaviour. In fact in the release notes if you notice we mention that for that game AA will not be turned on.

The game does not support them properly

Oh I see, ok.

So we can expect no black border with the TV out with the 4.7 Cats?

Just out of interest, do you know why that bug was introduced in the 4.5 and 4.6's? (the TV Output bug that is)

mmmm 4.4 was great...

well... just installed and ran aquamark with radlinker uping my specs a bit...

aghast, these drivers while looking great in the benchmark don't run nearly as fast.... I mean I think I ran an initial score of 38,000 but like my sig says I've seen up to 48... anyways...will see how ut2004 likes 'em an let ya know...

i just saw this over at the r3d-thread (posted by Dem2k), and since i think it is a good question and i am interested in it too i thought i could bring it up here:

Quote:
So I know this question of mine won't get answered since CM has gone to a more civil place. But when will temporal AA be supported in OpenGL? Will it ever be possible?

I am not familiar with this bug so I need to investigate before I can comment on when it will be fixed.

Can you give me exact steps to see this problem?

What I wonder is why are you still playing 7-8 year old games?

(But, If you want I can do a look at the 4.5 and 4.6 framrates on one of my rigs. What card are you useing?)

dragonfist22 is an unknown quantity at this point

What about performance in the MMORPG, Horizons? Any change here? Would love to see some better performance in that game even though I know it isn't one of the big games.
