ATI Radeon Omega Drivers 2.5.51

Was the wait that long?

Sorry, I was working on something important that I wanted to share upon the release of these drivers, and here it is: omegadrivers.net

Ops!
Forgot, the drivers...

What's New? (2k/XP 2.5.51)

* Based on the official Catalyst 4.6 drivers.

* Updated the Omega version of RadLinker (1010), now Radlinker includes a new skin option and ads support x800 overclocking.

* Added some tweaks for OLG. Enabled OGL Triple Buffer by default.

* Added support for MANY NEW Radeon cards, FireGL cards and Mobility chipsets. ANY card should be supported now and the drivers will always install.

* Now the drivers should work a LOT better on laptops.

* Fixed FireGL card support, now it has full CP support and fully working OGL.

* Changed the installer graphics.

* Added a new option in the installer to select a faster OLG driver instead of just using the latest one, this driver runs Counter Strike like butter.
Important note: The special OGL driver will NOT work on x800 cards.

* The package keeps growing in size, the drivers will keep being distributed in compressed CAB format to save some bandwidth, it must be decompressed using one of these tools (latest version): WinAce, WinRAR or WinZip. Then run the extracted file to start installation of the drivers.

* Opened a new site!

Hope that's all, have been working for the last 16 hours straight just to get the site done on time for the drivers release and can no longer coordinate correctly.

You can get them on my new site.

BTW, I was planning on adding another surprise to the drivers, but couldn't finish it, maybe in an update.

Enjoy!

From the looks of it I would say the wait was worth it. Thanks for all your hardwork. Off to install and bench and to try out that OpenGL driver.

exclamation

Hi, Omega,
I'v just got a problem with the latest drivers. I installed a download manager which shows a small, always-on-top semi-transparent window. I noticed extreme performance degredation in 3D games when this small window is shown - from 30fps down to 1fps. And I have tried other applications/games, and come to the conclusion that, when there is something that is transparent (transparent window in XP for example), the 3D performance goes down. I haven't meet this problem before while I was using an nVidia card. I didn't find the cause.

Could you please tell me how to maintain 3D performance while using those transparent things? I need the both.

Thank you.

PS: This problem happens in all drivers from Cat 4.1 to 4.5, and Omega drivers based on these official drivers.
My config is Celeron 2.4GHz + i865PE mb(Gigabyte) + Radeon 9500 64MB

Sounds alot like the driver from http://www.newgenerationorder.org/, is it the same OpenGL driver as they use or is there any difference and have anyone tested the 2 driver packs in CS, to see which one is the fastest?

Currently i use NGO 1.4beta and it runs very smooth

Same errors with new OGL driver as NGO fastest one, with 16bit colors. So remember to use 32bit colors before running (-32bpp to the launch options in CS).

Why doesn't Gamma Panel work even these are 4.6 based? With Cat4.6 gamma adjusts works just like the old days. Forced to use pstrip

Its to bad that the opengl driver will not work for the X800 Series of video cards. Why won't it work for the x800 series?

No controlpanel?

I'm sure this is great work as always, but where is the control panel?
I tried reinstalling the drivers, but with no luck

I'm using a Powercolor 9500 with the 9500@9700 mod included in your driverpackage.

Got a problem...

After installing the newest omega, my America's Army won't start, this is the message I got:

Quote:
No Label

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD PentiumPro-class processor @ 2150 MHz with 511MB RAM
Video: No Video

Please enable Direct3D acceleration. You can do this by starting dxdiag and enabling Direct3D Acceleration in the Display1/2 tab after installing DirectX 8.1b (or later) and the latest drivers for your graphics card.
I checked my dxdiag and d3d acceleration is already enable. When I had Cat4.6 it worked fine.
I'll try cleaning the drivers and reinstall omega.

Use Driver Cleaner, something went wrong.

Try re-installing the AGP chipset drivers for your MB.
