Its easy to say whatever they fix by July 10-15th will be the Cats 4.8

They are a month behind in giving us code.

So expect October 2004 to fix the Doom 3 problems?

hello,
like others i have the same problem with not having tempAA in the control pannel.
i have an english version win2k pro , with other language installed but the os id still in english only with support for my mother toungue, the ATI cp is allways in my mother tongue and not in english after i install the cp, i wish i knew how to make the cp install itself in english as the crappy translation of the technical terms is really making my life hard.
so i guess this bug with the tempAA has to do with other languages been installed on english os.
anyway thanks for the tool.
btw is there a way to make the cp install in english only?
maybe ATI can help on this one?

Its really down to the fact only english OSes can get at the TAA right now, it will be added in the new (forthcoming 4.8) drivers. for the meantime just use the little toggle application.

Just saying the way the releases are NOW, that will be fact then.

Considering everyone I know Will be buying doom 3 and we are all on Ati cards.

I don't care how far behind they are there hasn't been a rease of catalyst drivers so far that have dissappointed me or kept me from playing any game that i play on the internet... As far as i am concerened they are doing an excellent job with there drivers, and if you dont like them there always nvidia I am not gonna bash nvidia either never owned one and dont see no need to as long as ATI is doing the great job they are doing and as long as driverheaven and the great members we have here to help one another out.... Great Job ATI and DH members for all the help....

My GL Excess (OpenGL) scores show a very nice improvement with the 4.7's

4.6 = 9954
4.7 = 13846

3892 increase is very impressive!

Well, 4.7 seems to make my existing problem even worse.

Whereas with 4.6 or Omega 4.6s, I only experienced lock ups in DX9 or OpenGL games, and was able to play America's Army and CS in D3D mode, now with 4.7, both AA and CS lock up as well.

I'm getting much better performance with 4.7 on my 9800 Pro. BF42 and BF:V are my main games, the BF:V performance is much better than 4.6. Benchmarks are about the same, but as they say, you can't play Battle of Proxycon.

Also, you don't realize they could be a couple releases a head in devolvement of official release so it takes time for fixes to fully trickle down...

I'd keep in mind GL Excess = CPU has huge affect on scores (much like aquamark)

Probably not, but IMO that’s on the game developers end...

Notice it tends to crash during the loading screen?

Notice they auto save at that point, so if you load after a crash you already on the other side of the load/ your in the area your were heading to! Kind of like they knew there was an issue...
Game it self is really buggy lest with the 1.03 patch. I couldn’t even get force powers or use and Jedi stuff the whole game! Click the Power buttion in charicter set = crash

I think the patch borked the game.. not bad for 24 hours of game play though

thats BS scores!! no way a driver can make that leap. maybe 0-600 os reasonable but 3892!! you surealy overclocked your vid card and maybe your processor and but no way thats the stock scores!! unless you changed some settings..

I beta Test for MANY companies I understand they are farther ahead, I am just Curious Why every release is pretty close to 1 month old when we get it.

Its a simple question, which seems to confuse the people on here who have a huge amount of posts, I am not bashing ATi, cause I do own there product and use it daily.

Because My critisim is Negative doesn't mean its bad.

Not everyone is a fanboy and is gonna defend ATi at every turn.

SO i don't understand why you ASSume that because I make valid points, I am complaining?

Just stating my opinions, unless thats against some rules here and I should be a fanboy?

hey dazog I pmed you yesterday I suggest you read it and reply before posting again - we seem to have a little problem with multiple accounts under your IP which id like some answers to before you get removed. I also suggest you "move" to nvidia, they release a few offical drivers a year, might work out better for you.

Well to back up what i said about ati yesterday how awesome they are listen to this.. I sent them my AIW 9700 Pro back to them to be fixed last tuesday and today i get it back only to see the replaced the whole card.... Not only did they send me a whole new card They sent me a AIW 9800 PRO I am so stoked and now the taa option works normally right in the control panel.... ATI I love them... They sure do know how to satisfy there customers thats for sure ....

But anyways, Lucasarts seems to think the current build of KOTOR is fine, thus no new patches are in the works. Damn. Oh well, the storyline hooked me!

Can you give some more specific about the problems, without sounding repetitive have you gone through all the troubleshooting steps that can be associated with driver changes.

uninstall CP and drivers through add/remove programs
checked your direct x install to see if hardware excelleration is enabled
possible do a fresh install of motherboard chipset drivers
and if all else fails a fresh install of your OS

I was using Temporal AA in Unreal 2004 and the game crashed with a Generic Crash Message.

I don't know if its worth the time to file a Bug, since no valid error message was given

Yeah, oddly enough, happened to me too in Counter-Strike. Having temporal AA turned on in CS causes all the text to be messed up, the CS splash screen is messed up, and everything shimmers including the crosshair. Then it crashes, a lot.

It's because driver which is going to be relased needs to be:
1. Tested (which can't be if you have driver compiled yesterday)
2. WHQL certified (which needs time too)
So, why are you complaining? Will you die because you have to wait one month so you could test more recent stuff? No.

People are strange; when you give them on release a month, they start complaining how outdated it is. When you release driver on no regular basis (like NV still does, and like ATI did in pre-Catalyst time), everything is OK???
