FireGL driver faster than 4.9B driver in Doom3?!?

Ive just been doing some benchmarking with Doom3 and have found on my setup the FireGL opengl driver to be faster, has anyone else experienced this? Also my scores seem a bit low, any ideas?

Spec: Dual Xeon 3.0/400
FireGL X1-256P
512mb PC800

Doom 3 1024*768 HQ
With Current FGL driver - 24.7
With Atioglgl.dll replaced with 4.9b file - 21.7
Omegas wont load Doom 3
4.9B Install Program Refuses to Install
Spirit Install Program Refuses to Install

Hi there,

Where can I find this driver? Do you mean the Spirit Driver 1.5?

Its the latest Official ATI release for FireGL cards. It should work with hacked Radeons too. Link: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/firegl/f...2kxp-79621.exe

There is an old post of mine you can force the firegl drivers onto a unhacked radeon. You just have to force the install and choose the firegl equilvalant..

For comparison the DNA drivers were worst. Installed with Doom3 Normal FPS driver and using identical settings to above I got 16.5Fps. The DNAs did work best in D3D though and everything seemed to work with decent image quality, they are also one of the few drivers that correctly detected my FireGL as the AGP Pro variant. Overall though the ATI FGL driver seems to work best.

Anyone else tried the FGL driver?
