Default Post A Question for the ATI driver experts...

Just a quick question for Cyborg , Omega, or any other driver gurus that may be lurking around:

Is there any easy way to add the 1280x960 to an ATI driver that doesn't have it?
Like maybe a file or registry value to edit/add, or maybe something to add/edit in the installer files before installing?

I use the ATI 7115, if important. Any ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks!

That resolution can only be archived by modifying the installer files.
You can do it through the registry, but it will be a pain in the arse, too many keys to change. Or you can do it using powertrip, but that limits you to only one refresh rate.

Mystik is on a distinguished road

Does using a tweaker also limit you to 1 refresh rate?

I enable it via Rage3DTweak, but since my monitor can only handle 60hz at that
resolution, i never really payed attention to the refresh rate of it.

I don't know Mystik, I don't use any tweakers, I do everything manually, so I don't know how they work with the resolutions, but I do know that powerstrip does only one refresh per custom resolution.

Thanks for your reply

Hmm.... Concerning the installer files that would have to be edited, are they plain-text files or the .EXE's, .DLL's, and such (or a mix?) If they are .EXE's, etc., how hard would it be to accomplish? Because I do still have the Install package sittin' here.

See, I REALLY liked the 1280x960 I got with your drivers. It was great for watching TV and whatnot (eliminating the thin black bars at 1280x1024), and I got a 120Hz refresh rate (versus 100Hz at 1280x1024.) But the last completely glitch-free driver for me has been the ATI 7115.

And I wouldn't want to enable it through some software if I could have it more 'natively.'

Thanks Cyborg

Would you be so kind as to clue me in to which .INF file it is, and what change(s) to it would enable the 1280x960 resolution?

Pretty Please.
