winamp Milkdrop R300 +multisampling not working?

I was happy to see that multisampling worked with my Radeon9700Pro AIW, when using winamp and Milkdrop Plugin from www.Geisswerks.com.

However after innstalling the latest catalyst drivers Catalyst 4.8 Multisampling didnt work for me in this program.
Is there a problem with the drivers?
Does multisampling work with these drivers in other programs?
Anyone have any suggestions about what I can do?

i had a few issues with milkdrop ... the drivers have improved but i'm still getting some odd issues.. i've attempted to e-mail geiss a few times but always got a (unable to send, does exsits) and i've tried a few different e-mails...

I'm guessing you installed winamp 5 5.04 and then installed the 1.04 from the website you posted?... because if you didn't and just run the one that comes with it.... that might be part of the problem as it's trimmed down immensely....

Yes, I did that. I havent tried to install Winamp again after innstalling catalyst 4.8 though, only Milkdrop.
When I first became aware of the problem, after innstalling Catalyst 4.8 and trying milkdrop with my original settings, it refused going into desktop mode or fullscreen. I got an error message saying I probably had too little graphical memory.
So I entered the configure screen and saw that the Multisampling option was set too zero and wouldnt let itself be altered. After that it worked fullscreen and in desktop mode, but this time multisampling wouldnt work of course since it had been disabled.

When it did work with the old catalyst it worked great. Maybe it will work with catalyst 4.9 doom beta.
I hope this will work since its a great way to push my graphics card and cool to watch. Besides its the only way I know to try out multisampling.

I just discovered that, Multisampling has disappeared from my Geiss2 Plugin too.

Do you know if multisampling may have been disabled in catalyst 4.8, or if it is just me and my machine doing something wrong?

multi sampling with my 128mb cards or even the 64mb cards i've run with all version of Cat's works fine.. i just can't run 4x multsampling at above 1600x1200.... 2x multisampling at 2048x1536 works....

multisampling works across a whole pile of cards i've got

My screen resolution is 1280x1024 60 Hz.
Maybe it will fix itself if I try to reinstall DX90c, Catalyst 4.8 and Last version of Winamp and Milkdrop. I think Ill try that. Starting now.

I just reinstalled everything from the beginning. Now everything works.
sorry for having bothered you.

Its just too D**n hard to keep track of all the windows processes I think I`ll soon be going over to be using Linux instead.

I wonder when the next peculiarity of my setup will start showing up.

Anyway thanks for your help. Milkdrop is now functioning great at max settings with my single monitor.
Wonder what went wrong with my old setup?

usually with a driver update... or DX update.... some 3rd party application can setup wrong and lose it's ability to read drivers wrong.... or get wrong info.. or just go into the fetis position for safe mode....

Well thanks anyway for helping me out.
When I reinnstalled I innstalled Madplugin directsound in 24bit for winamp and the ssrc directsound out 24 bit 96kHz resampler plugin too. At last everything is working great.
