??? problems installing omega drivers

Whenever i install omega drivers it allways comes up with a error message at the end of the install, it says something like "please install a proper VGA driver for your screen" or something close to that, and when installing radclock it says " unable to register "somefile"

What am i doing wrong??

I am uninstalling the CP and radclock before inst. the driver and radclock, and i am using the monitor driver i got with my samsung 959NF.

Welcome to DH.

I'm guessing you just formatted your system recently? Go to Intel's site and try downloading and installing their Chipset drivers using the "INF Update Utility".

Hope that helps.

P.S - You may want to reduce the size of your signature to our 400 x 100 standard set out in the rules here. Thanks

Thanx for the welcome

Yes i did format recently, but i had the problem before i formatted and i have already installed the chipset driver, thats one of the first things i install after format.

I am a bit lost as to what the cause of this is, but it started after i bought the monitor i have now and installed the drivers for it, but right now my monitor is being repaired and i havent installed the drivers for it since i formatted.

ps:
What kind of cooling do you use on your GFX?
I am using a zalman heatpipe thing (hp80C or something like that ) and i cant get over 475 on the core.

Also, why PC2700 ram??
With a OC like yours, how high is your FSB?
I am @ 230 fsb and have clocked my ram to 460 Mhz so i can have it at divider 1:1, you would get a kick in the performance if you did the same.

If you could get the actual error message, I can do more for you. Thanks

I'm using a 2.4B which operates normally at 133 MHz FSB (266 MHz). I'm overclocking up to 180 MHz FSB (360 MHz DDR). So I'm just going from 333 MHz to 380 Mhz I'm planning on getting some PC3200 when somebody buys my older parts from me.

As for cooling on my video card, it's stock. I get a nice 65XX in 3Dmark03.

I will post it the next time i install, right now i have done what i do everytime this happens: do a system rollback, and then simply installing the new driver on top of the other without removing anything first, and then settling for the old radclock version.

Ahh, ok, i thought you had the 2.4C with 800 FSB.

Why use radclock? Are you using it to overclock? Why not just flash the new clockspeeds into your video card BIOS? That's what I do so I don't have to deal with programs.

P.S - Don't forget to take care of that nice signature of yours, it's too big.

Ahh, ok. I don't see the point of dynamically changing the clockspeed so, I never bother with utilities. If I wanted to preserve the card, I wouldn't overclock at all.

Scroll up to my first post under the P.S for the link to the rules.

There you go

Now it should be within the size allowed.

The reason i use radclock is not only that i use dynamic speeds, its also because i dont have the knowledge to flash the BIOS of the card.
And i like that program
But now i installed it on top of the old driver, but you can be sure that i will ask you next time i need to update my driver and it makes the same thing

Edit: hmm, it looks like its still to big??
I will fix it. bare over with me

Flashing a BIOS is as simple as typing this:

Boot to DOS.
atiflash -p -f 0 bios.rom

Done. In fact... if you look in our front page news, there should be a guide there from PCStats which I posted about, if you're interested.

Don't worry about the Sig. Just get it reduced or removed if you're going to post a lot. It's not for me since I have High Speed Internet, it's more for our 56K visitors and readability.

P.S - Thanks for abiding with the rules

No need to thank me for that, rules are there for a reason.

But i know the feeling, i am admin for my CS clan forum and whenever someone comes along that actually abide the rules i get the same urge to almost thank that person

Sadly it is mostly the exception rather than the rule.

But i am looking forward to being a part of this forum, i think its one of the better ones that deal with driver problems and so on.

using driver cleaner will help. basically removes driver info from the system, then it forces the basic VGA driver which is used when one is not provided.

then you can install the drivers.
