Blue Screen o' Death after CCC install

You probably have an old version of RadLinker or RadClocker installed. Uninstall it, reboot, then install the latest version to avoid this problem.

Same thing happened to me, and I have the radclocker 2012 version which is the newest I beleive. Did you get yours fixed. I havent gotten the blue screen of death again since that time for some reason. By the way, I have never seen the BOD for 2 years straight now until this driver update. ALways use drivecleaner upon install. So I know it has to be something with the new control panel. Also I recently put the .net service pack in from windows updates. Not sure if that caused the problem either.

I resolved it, removed the control panel and went with the old one!

Good Becouse I have the cure! Easy to fix (well it's worked for others)

Normally I don't reccomend beta material but the .Net 2.0 beta 1 is a much better frame work I reccomend you guys give it a try its a rather good improvent over the old 1.1

EDIT: 2.0 beta 1 while smoother can couse problems in some cases with CCC if this happens revert to the 1.1 official, thats why

C:\ati\suoport\wxp-w2k-ccc-8-051-040825a-017633c\Driver\
Run the setup.exe do another driver install (for good measure)

Go into your forlder
C:\ati\suoport\wxp-w2k-ccc-8-051-040825a-017633c\ACE\
Run the setup when prompted choose the repair option

You might also clean out your
c:\windows\prefetch\
folder, everything in there is safe to delete (for good measure)

Also keep in mind if you've disabled sevices and it ends up being one of the many required by CCC or the .net frame work then you will have problems as well...

Even a or a older installed 3rd party tools can couse problems.

Have you people tried the service pack release for .Net 1.1?

.Net Framework 1.1 SP1 Download

It solved crashing issues I had with CCC, but even after the 4.9 release, I'm still sticking with the classic panel. In fact, I think I'll stick with it until a majority raves about or ATI adds new (and worthy) features that aren't included with the classic CP.

Well the changes better be worthwhile and that's all I care about. Besides, they're still missing a few features which can only be done in the old CP.

You know.... We all give Microsoft hard knocks sometimes, but says great things when I see posts from people who haven't seen a BSOD in two years.

Personally, I have YET to have a BSOD in xp. And I installed it on day one of release.

I don't want to dump on this thread but, apoch003, that's the way it is supposed to be. We shouldn't be complimenting MS for making software that works properly, it is supposed to work properly.

Then what WOULD you ever compliment Microsoft on?
Considering Macs still lock up randomly etc...

I still think Microsoft deserves some kudos considering the products previously released.

That the software should work is a given. We should compliment them when they go beyond that e.g. when they respond promptly to customers' issues or add new useful features without thought of financial gain.

Don't confuse an individual with a corporation. You compliment an individual not a corporation.

i'm currently using just the control panel with stock ati cat 4.10 drivers... control center runs fine with my 9800pro aiw... it just seems to me that the control center process (cli.exe) is somewhat of a resource hog... things don't run as smoothly as they do with just the control panel... and you need to update your .NET 1.1 Framwork else it'll mess things up... i learned that the hard way... i can live without the catalyst ai control for now... stability and performance come first... ati should optimise the control center soon... it's a good update to the driver platform...

I have NEVER been able to get Omega Drivers to work on my Machine. I have a Sager with the Monility Radeon 9000. The normal manufacture drivers work fine except on a few games. Just tried EQ 2 and Omega fixed my weird colors but during the opening sequences(splash screens) the logoas are distorted and torn. I can run fine until I reboot or turn off and then on. I then get a generic blue screen crash during boot.I can boot to dafe mode(I am there now) and everything looks ok. I have tried other mods also. I cannot find a new bios for my card. I flashed the MB bios with newest. Pulling my hair out!

How did u remove the NEW CP and reinstall the old one?

And, what is this 60Hz bug I keep reading about???
