Alternate DVI mode enabled by default?
OK, I've searched the forums and cannot find a concrete answer:
After installing the Omega drivers, the 'Alternate DVI Mode' is enabled. I'm running an 18.1" DVI FP. Is this enabled by default to ensure compatibility with most DVI FPs, or ??? Is there a general performace enhancement by leaving it enabled? I do notice that the screen refreshes differently with it on, but can't determine any advantage to having it on. Thanks! BizSAR |

It's on by default with all ATi drivers I've tried also. I've never had a problem with it so I've always left it enabled. Still, I too have no idea what its for lol

Hmmm...the context/help for it says to enable
if you are expiriencing issues. That would lead me to believe there was an issue when the tests were run after installation and reboot...at least that's what an user might think. Perhaps it's a software bug? Is it happening on the Omega-branded ATi drivers alone? I'll leave it checked for a while and see what happens/doesn't happen... |
