    · Running Serious Sam SE under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON™ X800 PRO installed no longer results in lens flares showing through solid objects within the game
    · Playing the game IL2 Forgotten Battles under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON™ X800 series installed no longer results in the display corruption and the game failing to respond when FSAA is enabled and display is set to either 1200x960 or 1600x1200
    · Connecting an HDTV 7pin dongle to the video card no longer results in TV detection issues when both the TV and YPbPr (HDTV) are active
    · Playing a DVD with PowerDVD on the primary display and playing an MPEG clip with Windows Media Player on the secondary display device no longer results in flickering and corruption being seen
Issues Resolved in the CATALYST Control Center Version 4.9:
  • · Enabling a second display device followed by changing the positions of the two devices in the mapping area, no longer results in the images changing to a different unexpected position when click apply to the changes
    · Setting the Overlay option back to the default setting now results in the default setting becoming active when relaunching the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER
    · Repeatedly switching from one custom profile and another in rapid succession no longer results in the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER failing to respond
    · Canceling SMARTGART changes and exiting the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER no longer results in the reboot message reappearing when restarting the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER
    · A .net error message is no longer displayed under Windows 2000 when the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER is installed from an administrator account an then attempting to launch the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER from the system tray on a secondary account
    · Having the display properties page active and attempting to close the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER no longer results in a .net exception error message appearing
    · Assigning the same hotkey for Increase 3D Gamma and Decrease 3D Gamma under Windows 2000 no longer results in a .Net exception error when attempting to move the hotkey manager window around the desktop
    · Disabling the primary device and selecting the secondary device to be the primary no longer results in the Information Center displaying a blank page
    · The CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER no longer reports the CPU type as Intel when installed under an AMD64 system
    · Launching the Task Manager and clicking on End Process for the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER system tray option no longer results in the system tray option for the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER still be selected within the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER
    · Switching from the CATALYST™ Control Center System Skin option to the CATALYST_Quicksilver Skin option no longer results in the Toolbar area skin becoming corrupted

I doubt I will be installing these. I don't see any improvements that I would benefit from, plus the Omega 4.8's are running flawlessly on my system.

There are performance increases with ACE as well and Memory usage should be signifigantly less for most.

same here, the first one was totally borked, undeserving of the high quality displayed by ATI in its drivers...

ATI have supplied two versions from their front page, bottom left, one with the older CC and one with the new CCC.

Give the new CCC a try at least first.

wow

i will rate these very soon once my 56k gets in gear

UPDATE:

the Drivers ROCK not one problem at all and performance is GREATTTTTTT
IQ is out standing.

the CCC is getting better and better i still consider it Late Beta But its more responsive now to changes applyed.

i rate the Drivers a 9 Yes you heard me correct thats a 9
as for the CCC i rate it a 6 at the minute i do like the change they made to the overdrive section but as i can only imput one vote i will vote 9 for the drivers as there is still more work needed for the CCC...........

i will throw some benches in later.

BTW richard burns rally runs pritty smooth with these drivers compaired to the 4.8`s with CCC these are much smoother

my hat goes off to ATI for another outstanding job well done.

now i wonder if OMEGA will ever release a 4.9 CCC flavour time will tell.

noticed that on my TFT monitor some at a resolution of 1024 x 768 some of the text has been "chopped off" in the CCC. It's mostly the one's with the sliders where i can't see the text fully

is the voting for the driver set alone or for the both the driver and the CCC. I would rate the drivers alone very much higher than when combined with the still beta CCC

i tried CCC 2 times!
because its just the beginning of the ACE project ill give it a try again later... anyway there is bug in the monitor properties.. when i try to launch "device settings" its not showing up..
and there is many errors in the event log and CCC running very slow..
and since there is now 3 services its leeching more ram then ever. its offer almost same features like the old CP.

Well, after the installation and right after rebooting (without launching the interface), there were 2 CLI.exe processes, each taking more than 5MB in the Mem Usage column, and around 40-50MB (each) in the VM Size column.

As for the interface itself, it travels anywhere between 2 and 40MB in Mem Usage, and 30-70MB in VM Size, depending on the window.

Not that it means anything, especially concerning the baseless whinings about perfs, but I guess "some" people will still be screaming...

The CCC itself is more responsive. The biggest problem I have with it is the disappearance of the two DVI options (alternate mode and reduced refresh rate). In my case (20" LCD in 1600x1200@60), there's a slight corruption problem, alternate mode increases it and 'reduced refresh rate' fixes it completely. But since I couldn't find this option in the CCC, I had to remove it, check the option in the old CP, then reinstall the CCC.

Even so, I'm not difficult, I still like it
