X800 and 98se?

Well after about an hour or two of hunting around last night for drivers for my X800 pro in 98se I gave up and wrote to a friend at ATi who told me the sad news; there is NO 9x/me support for the X800 family yet.

This depresses me.

I don't really use 98se much anymore, but I would like the option to use it...has anyone hacked any drivers to work with the X800 yet? Is there a set of 4.7 98se catalysts that will work with the X800 or will I have to wait for next year when ATi might support it? (Or should I try hacking a set... )

That was my first thought too, but I didn't want to put him out just on a whim of mine.

I think I'll try bugging Terry about it, I need something to bug him about anyways since I'm just too damned happy with this X800 pro.

my guess is you could take the files from the old cats that DID support 98 (oglxx, etc), and the INF files from a new set that supports the x800 and via minimal hackign get yerself upa nd running
