Some Quick 4.9 CCC VS Old CP numbers

Some Quick 4.9 CCC VS Old CP numbers

This is after a fresh install nothing installed except for drivers, my screen shot program, .net 2.0 beta 1, and cacheman 5.5 a tool I normally use but haven't used it to alter any of the default windows settings (that i normally do). Also, i've disabled to memory recover option to not taint the results, i never us that feature anyways. (In short this is an untweaked XP install). Last look I took I did things the hard way and did everything manually running from task manager numbers. This is a much simpler way to take a look at what going on.

each run cp version installed, system defragmented, test results tooken on the second reboot.

I'm just going to thow these numbers at you real quick and let you draw your own conclusions:

System useable/cp loaded
Old CP Boot time: 41/41
CCC --Boot time: 49/60

thats 8 seconds more to a useable desktop, and a total of 19 seconds more till ccc is fully loaded.. For some reason CCC appears to be the last to load, but also the last to start loading.

Boot Time:

CP setting open:

(yes when you have a 3d application loaded, with in windows game running it's going to use more resourses)

I'm a little confused by the #'s neon. I still haven't installed the new CP, and am considering doing so, just am a little bit weary of doing so because of all the negative feedback and what not. I'm also waiting to see if Unian uses the new CP in thier latest driver release.

It's pretty simple , just compair two screens in each area and you'll see the differances. this is based just on resourse usage since thats what alot people seem to have a bigest problem with. It's more of a point of referance then anything as configerations verry so will your results. Despite the resourse useage the impact of performance is nil. CCC is better but it layed out differatly etc. openions will verry. I don't know if it will affect moded sets i havn't tested/herd much about it. The modders apper to be stearing clear for now.

It's best you try it for your self and draw your own conclusions.

to tell anyone the truth...

I'm running 512mb of ram ATM.... i installed the 4.9's with the CCC by default on a fresh install....

WHILE within the CP... the recourse usage climbs... however, apon closing the CP ... moving the task manager over to another windows (having 2 task managers going at once... one for processes and one for performance) and loading up ANY other program....

The usage drops dramatically..... (by default. there are 2 instances of the CLI.exe (the CCC), disabling the systray icon will kill one of the processes)

Personally, other then a good amount of optimisations... and other little fixes need for the CCC currently, it runs exactly the same as the old CP, AND it packs a hell of alot more stuff into the new CP

Some of us still can't even run it due to this 'No ATI Drivers installed' error. I'd like to be able to even give it a try. Guess I might know more after a fresh install of WinXP but that's not worht the hastle just for a new CP no matter how cool.

Thanks for the pics NC. The new CCC is pretty cool. Yeah I had probs at first, but worked it out, They are runnnig pretty good now. The little race car flash image you get to watch while making setting changes is a great idea. You can see the res quality before you hit apply! That rocks!

Hum werid, when I right click the race car image it says "about macromedia player". Just assumed it was flash. Also I was wondering why I don't have the over drive tab?

The CCC only supports Radeon 9500+, so if you don't have that.... Well there you go.
