Garbled Screen (ATI x800 Pro)

Hi all,

I recently got a made by ATI Radeon x800 Pro. I am currently using the newest omega drivers. I have directx 9.0b, and windows xp pro sp2. Anyways, when I run a program that utilizes directx (such as the dirext3d test in dxdiag, or 3dmark03), my screen goes all garbled and colored and fades different colors. I have tried a few versions of the ATI drivers, directx 9.0c and 9.0b, forced safe refresh rates, and I updated my VIA, AGP, and monitor drivers, all to no avail. I also tried changing to 4x, disabling fast writes, and messing with other BIOS settings. My monitor is a tl500a LCD. I have no idea what else I could try besides reinstalling XP, which I dont really want to do. Any ideas?

System Specs:

Athlon XP 2300+
DFI AD77 Infinity
ATI Radeon x800 Pro
512MB Corsair TwinX
30 gig HD space
Cd Burner
Dvd player
Soundblaster 512
425 watt PSU

Thanks

But only in D3d?

Did you install the video drivers AFTER the motherboards? <-Thats what you should do.

But I don't think that is what is cousing your problem.
Posting a screenshot of this "garbledness" will mostlikely help in diagnosing your problem.

Whoa... I have been working on this for 3 days and it just started working fine... maybe that indicates a tempurature or power supply problem, or is this forum just so good all I had to do was post and make myself look stupid :P

EDIT- Stupid P.O.S. I rebooted and its doing it again when I did a direct3d test in dxdiag.

EDIT 2 - I have found out that every time I run counter-strike, it fixes it. When I reboot, it happens again. So... counterstrike has healing powers :P

Any ideas?
