I too got a corrupted download -- Unexpected end of archive from Chaos's mirror. 15.8 MB (16,572,416 bytes)

And yeah don't please complain about speed man, I can only hit 144kbit max cos thats all the bandwidth I've got..And I've gotta download it again! :P

System Specs

just installed this set,and i have to say that if you make sure that your system is clean of all other drivers these will be flawless, atleast on my system.i just ran 3dmark,i know they have lost credibility recently, but this is the only benchmark i like to install on my system that dont leave reminents all over after uninstalling it.i ran it with stock settings because of a bios update and got my highest stock score to date,5984.

cant wait till later when i have time to OC and see what i get then,i was getting 6100+ with my current sig with my old official bios, the bios i am running now is beta so we will see. later

PS:just ran 3dmark with high performance settings and scored 6075.

Oh yeah - Check out bittorrent omega!! With this many people downloading, I'm sure a bt package would be great. Those guys on big pipes that can't host it linkwise would get to chip in, and collectively everyone can help everyone get a quicker download.

I just deleted the file and redownloaded from the same mirror (Chaos's). Same size, and corrupted. I tried WinRAR and WinZIP and both failed. Check your file Chaos..

Great Work Omega!!
Thanks to keep away the CCC!
I have a couple of questions :

1)after the installation my pc was VERY SLOW like I've never seen before, after the reboot seem the problem was resolved, but why it happened ?
2) I use the 9500 soft-mod and usually in the card info tab of the cp was displayed "Radeon 9700" now there's "Radeon 9800" But I'm sure to have selected the 9500 soft-mod

Sorry for my rusty English, take it easy !

Great Job once again Omega. Is there a way to use Temporal AA? or is it a bad idea to use Temporal AA with your drivers?

Thanks for any input and thanks again for the drivers!

1) After a driver installation there is a pause on first bootup until the Smartgart is finished testing and applied its mode settings. Until it has done so the graphics card is not properly initialised, so the next time wait a little and let it do its thing. Usually doesn't take more than maybe 10-20 seconds. It's an ATI driver behavior.
2) That should be okay and merely a matter of whatever ID the softmod results in. The only really important thing is wether the extra pipelines are activated and they most likely are.

In the tab named Advanced 3D you can choose different AntiAliasing modes. The ones with a T in it are temporal modes, for instance 2T2 is 2x AA with regular temporal mode. The modes with a T3 name are a bit experimental if I remember what has been noted before regarding RadLinker, and the T2 modes are recommended as they represent normal Temporal AA behavior. And while we're on the subject I guess it doesn't hurt to mention that whenever Temporal AntiAliasing is used, VSync will be forced on regardless of the separately available VSync setting.

Hi,

Please can I just ask for a bit of clarification. I've just installed these latest Omega's (having been a avid fan based on previous sets - Ta Omega btw). This time however, in common with other peep's I have had the "invalid command parameter .... JPEG" error, and the loss of the 3D tab in the Advanced menu of the graphics settings, so can not alter my mipmap, AA & AF settings.

Looking at the posts it would seem that the solution is to Use Radlinker or replace the current version. There is also mentions of a "Omega" Version of radlinker. However I have had never had reason to install this before.

So the simple question is how do I resolve this issue? Is the use of radlinker the only option, if which version should I use?

Also I'm always a bit warey of of using any software which does not seem to install properly - so am i sitting on a potential time bomb - just waiting to crash my system?

Many thanks in advance for any help

Orca

@ ORCA
During the installation of the Omega's a folder called Radeon Omega Drivers is created in your startmenu. In that folder you'll find a Re(install) Radlinker link. That's the one you want to click, follow instructions and you're all done...

Thanks for the update Omega. I have been using Omega's drivers for a while and I have noticed that I've got 2 x ati2evxx.exe running on my machine at all times. One is 400 bytes smaller than the other. I've used driver cleaner to no avail before so I'm guessing this is just the way it's meant to be, or isn't it? I'm running a mobility 9600 card.

Hi, just installed these drivers and got a problem.

The anti-aliasing settings do not work, not in DirectX or OpenGL mode. It's not the same as in some above posts, I installed the new Radlinker and found the anti-aliasing and other settings in their new location. I set AA to 4x which I usually use in DX and OGL modes.

However, when I launched some games, both DX and OGL, there was no AA in the image at all. I'm not sure do the other image settings work, but AA is very easy to see...

I reinstalled the Radlinker but it didn't make any difference. Then I reinstalled the whole drivers but the problem persisted.

I've used various Omegas for over a year now, but never seen a problem like this. The Readme didn't say anything about this. Any ideas, maybe I just missed something?

Seems like a bug on your end, try setting a profile for the game and test if it works, if it doesn't, just follow the instructions in the Driver Cleaner readme (included) to re-install the drivers.

Thats normal, it happens also with the normal ATI drivers as far as I know.

It's not excactly pretty but yes that is the way ATI means it to be. One instance is used for hotkeys and the other for VPU recover.

No you haven't missed anything, but something has probably gone awry in the driver or control panel. When you reinstalled this driver, did you first try to remove everything first? Try that and if even that would not help, try using the Driver Cleaner tool available here on DriverHeaven. One other quick thing that might be worth a shot before going the long way: go to the SmartGart tab, click "retest all" and reboot. Probably won't solve the issue but just in case you would like to try one more thing out before using Driver Cleaner.

I've found this very strange with using the Omega's. Everytime a new version comes out, i have to install the drivers twice. Before installing the new set, i uninstall Multires & Radlinker, then i reboot into safe mode, i then use the DriverCleaner provided by the Omega drivers, reboot again, uninstall the control panel, reboot and then proceed to install the new set. after that is done and i've rebooted once more, the desktop isn't the same as it was once before. It's at a lower resolution. So to correct this i have to reboot again. Why does this happen? Am i doing something wrong? Also does an antivirus program affect the installation of the drivers?

Btw, Omega, nice set of drivers and glad u r safe...

Thanks for the response. I couldn't find the game profile setup anywhere (never used that before...) so I cleaned the drivers using the instructions in the Driver Cleaner readme, and reinstalled the drivers but it didn't help.

Hey first post here
First thanks to Omega for the great work offcourse.
You do it everytime again
These drivers are awesome for me in CS. Me and my clanmates use this driver.
There is only 1 problem with these new drivers. I use the special opengl driver. There is no way I can force v-sync to be ON ??
I tried in Advanced 3D tab, I tried using profile nothing works.
Me thinks the force refresh rate setting in the Displays tab isn't working. Still getting the usual v-sync effects Having 100 fps with vsync on is vital in CS.
Could it be that you removed a registry line ?? In the official 4.9 force refresh rate and vsync.
Anyways appreciate your work and thanks

Hi,
This is my first post
I installed new omega drivers, and as usuall i expected good quality and performance, and I got that all but there's one problem: I was looking everywhere and I couldn't find any option to set my AA, anisotropic etc.
I've read previous posts that said something about that but I still don't get what should I do.
Look at this image showing the location I was looking in, maybe it will help you in helping me
http://www.acn.waw.pl/bnc/omega.jpg
Please explain where should I look
OK, TIA
