I think this is a great release. Last time I stuck with the UniAN's (not that you're in a competition, both set's are of great quality), this time your set seems to be working best for me. You and Chris did a great job with the CP too.

Can somebody post some sort of reliable comparison between this new Omega set and the 4.9 set made by UniAN? Cheers...

Just noticed that under the Advanced 3D --> Clock Rate tab my driver is listed as 2.4.96c! However in the Adapter tab the version shows correctly, 2.5.76.

Could this be the reason I can't get the advanced settings to work? Tried to reinstall Radlinker but it still shows this old version. Btw, the last drivers I used were Omega 2.5.58's and IIRC I had the 2.4.96c only briefly because it wasn't suitable for IL2:FB which I play the most.

If you mean in the Anisotropic Filtering settings then that is already there. Check the mini-sliders for an alternative way over the roll-down lists to change the various settings.

Well i installed the drivers and encountered the same problems i've had with the last few sets of drivers, but i spoke omega and he said that it might be my driver cleaning process. hopefully i'll get that sorted out. Anyways, i did some benches with them and noticed a performance gain... I got a 9800 pro @ 412/365.

3d Mark 01 - 15744

3d Mark 03 - 6151
GT1 - 179.3 fps
GT2 - 40.8 fps
GT3 - 36.4 fps
GT4 - 41.9 fps

Aquamark - 39, 929
GFX - 5832
CPU - 6459

One other quick thing that might be worth a shot before going the long way: go to the SmartGart tab, click "retest all" and reboot. Probably won't solve the issue but just in case you would like to try one more thing out before using Driver Cleaner.
Sorry, missed this before. I just went back to 2.5.58's as they work fine for me... I did the clean/reinstall procedure a couple of times though, but used the Driver Cleaner that came with the Omegas... is the DH one different?

Might try that SmartGart trick tomorrow, I've spent too many hours now trying to solve this.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help, I'll remember this forum from now on

And thanks to Omega too, I've used your drivers over a year and only now had an issue with them. I can always use the 2.5.58 which rocks

JPEG" error, and the loss of the 3D tab in the Advanced menu of the graphics settings, so can not alter my mipmap, AA & AF settings.

Looking at the posts it would seem that the solution is to Use Radlinker or replace the current version. There is also mentions of a "Omega" Version of radlinker. However I have had never had reason to install this before.

So the simple question is how do I resolve this issue? Is the use of radlinker the only option, if which version should I use?

Also I'm always a bit warey of of using any software which does not seem to install properly - so am i sitting on a potential time bomb - just waiting to crash my system?

Many thanks in advance for any help

i have the same problem lie others,

the install brings error messages ('wrong command line')..it seems the radlinker and the control panel are NOT getting installed at all ! Only the driver part gets installed.

I also dont have 3d/ogl tabs anymore !!!

Didnt have that problem with the last omegas

omega on your next release i strongly suggest making some additional additions to the installer, such as checking for previous software and either asking the users "yes" "no" to uninstall the old stuff. this would include ati tool, radlinker, and your old driver releases's.

also on annother side note, many users are noobs and they dont understand what the "T" in tempral aa means, nor do they know what t2 t3x or whatever those are.
please extend the info on that, possibly even a help file for it, or popup help ballons or something.
which would relate to this post...

to answer your question in the quote, it means the quantity of AA... meaning times 2 or times 3 (if i remember correctly).

just some comments im sure would help in the future.

Reporting 2 bugs...

When the setup was finished installing the drivers a little box popped up saying something about invalid file in installation and it mentions JPEG as part of some company... I dunno it isnt that important the setup at least finished.

The main bug is the drivers installing without the Radlinker package... so basically I was missing my 3d settings, etc.
Had to go to the Omega directory in program files/radlinker to manually install the package.

I dont really mind either... it worked

STOp !

) i have a ROUTER w/ NAT translation firewall.
) i have/had (after long tests and comparisons) Sygate Firewall, Kerio, ZoneAlarm running.

I am pretty savvy with my comp and i dont need SP2, i dont need the MS firewall since Kerio (or the others) are much better...and i have the latest virus-scanners and scan my system with ad-aware and similiar.

I can understand SP2 is 'useful' for people who do not have 3rd party firewalls and/or less knowledge - but i just dont need it.

BUT - lets not make this into a "SP2 - yes or no ?" discussion.

The point is that many users (incl me) have a problem with the latest Omegas

It sounds like radlinker is being forced on us now too. I have only ever tried it once and didn't really like it, so on all the past Omegas I have only installed the drivers, NOT radlinker-

If it's true that these Omegas won't work w/o Radlinker being installed thats a pretty poor decision on Omega's part.
