I had no problems so far with Doom3 , COD UO, Dark Age of Camelot, Warhammer 40000 , Thrones and Patriots,BF1942 Desertcombat, Rome Total War

I have a constant hard crash with Full Spectrum Warrior Demo , the windows error
reporting mentions a display driver failure to be the cause . I tried 2 times and my pc
crashed 2 times at about the same spot.

Also im quite unsure if the overclocker really works at least it doesnt keep
its settings on reboot ( i have a saphire 9700 npro card that is unlocked per bios hack
to pro and other utils worked ocing it) I do a moderate oc to 312 mhz (i have the
good samsung 2.2ns rams on it).

All the other games ran very fluent in max details at 1024x1280 (not doom3 of course)
and i never have crashes to desktop or hard freezes, although my system is
a overclocked 2500 Barton (running at about 2210 mhz with FSB 200)
I kinda rule out a failure of my hardware here...(temps stay round 41 Celsius)
the crash comes very quick inside the tutorial mission 1.

VPU is disabled . Fastwrites is disabled. Im using AGP 8 like i ever did cause
it works flawlessly on my EPOX 8rda+ 1.1 using onboard MCP-T sound.

Might take a look at the demo
http://www.filemirrors.com/search.sr...mo&action=Find
and see what happens on your rigs.

AA Problems

I saw somebody posting that they were having problems with AA and I am having the same problems. I just downloaded the latest Omega drivers and installed them but now AA is gone. I have adjusted the settings in the Advanced3D tab but no go. FS2004 looks like crap now with no AA. The reply to the other guy's problem was to use the driver cleaner program and re-install the driver. Did that...3 times! No difference. Anybody have any ideas? I have always prefered the Omega drivers to the default ATI but FS is not playable without AA. I am currently downloading the new ATI version but I would rather get the omega version working.

Thanks

rolleyes Radlinker install if failing

Windows MSI installer fails to install Radlinker - it basically crashes saying the program (msiexec.exe) performed an invalid operation - any other way to install this bundled radlinker...? (I did clean-up with drivercleaner 3.3 - as I always do, etc) - if anyone knows how to resintall the MSI installer on XP, I would give this a try (in case it got fuxor'ed in the first place)

Also, eventhough 3D works fine, I can't find AGPTextureMicroTiling and AGPTextureTiling entries in the registry
(on my other system I can and yes I know where they are supposed to be) - Omega, any idea why these entries did not make it during the install? should I try to re-install over again?

Win XP Pro SP1
ATI 8500

Thanks for any advice.

(also got the command-line error thingy during the drivers install - FYI)

Why upgrade to SP2?

Personally I'm not in a rush to break my operating system or cause potential problems. SP1 is fine for me and I know how to secure my OS.

But hey if people want to isntall SP2 then more power to them!

1) I've got a LAN with several PCs to upgrade and I will do it at some point - I usually wait at least 6 months before upgrading an OS version or a major patch (unless the upgrade is a must right away) - I've got a robust firewall, anti-virus software, etc to protect the PCs which have been running for several years fine.

2) How do I know the SP2 upgrade will fix my MSI installer issue? does SP2 install a new MSI service on top of the existing one in SP1?

Thanks for the suggestion though.

You should see the Advanced 3D tab and the DirectX\OpenGL tabs will be located in there. If they are missing go to the Radeon Omega Catalyst folder and choose (Re)Install RadLinker Omega Edition.

As for the desktop shortcut, I removed it for that exact same reason, but it will be replaced in the future with a link to the new CP.

You can use RivaTuner for that, that's what I use, that is, until we add the option to the drivers later.

1. Check the Device Manager and see if the 2 unknown devices are in fact the video drivers, I think those 2 are the WDM drivers if you have a VIVO card.

2. Follow the AGP acceleration instructions in the readme.
thanks it helped

Omega, take a look at this thread if you get a chance. there are several of us having problems with aa, af, and vsync. I'm not aware if this is what you plan to fix with the updated drivers I read you are working on. If it is, I'll gladly shut up. ;)~

HUGE HUGE improvement over the 2.5.67 driver set for me. Loaded flawlessly and increased my 3DMark 2001 score by 500 points. Last set just seemed buggy and caused tearing in game play. Could simply have been my machine didnt like CAT 4.8.

exclamation Need help desperately!

I'm having issues with my mobility Radeon 9700 and two games.

Star Wars Battlefront: When I get to the character selection screen, when the character appears on the screen for selection, black "shards" or triangles shoot off randomly from the character for a few seconds. Then I lock up hard.

World of Warcraft (beta): I get the same issue when at the login screen. The shards or triangles seem to eminate from the lower right corner of the screen for this game.

The tech support forum at Lucas and Blizzard says that I need to update my video drivers. I have tried the Omega drivers and the issues still remain.

Does anyone know what causes this type of error?

Thanks in advance!
