CATALYST beta posting of 8.07 driver

Yeah, I tried it without the stand-alone CCC (I used the bundled CCC to try to install the CC over top of this driver) and it wouldn't let me uncheck the driver and CP- they were "grayed out" with a check in them...

I returned all services to defaults and the CCC still won't work right though, so I'm running these drivers with regular CP...

Are there any "AI" features turned on in these drivers? I know you can't control AI yet, but even when it comes out in the 4.10 my understanding is that even w/o the CCC the driver will use the default level of AI..

If that is true then maybe this driver implements AI even without CCC??? Is that possible?

ATI YOU FU&KIN ROCK.

i dont normaly use such language on a forum but i just had to EXPRESS My SELF on this Driver release.

3dmark 2003 : 3.9 Omega`s : 11678
3dmarks 2004 : LATEST RELEASE : 12245

what a wonderfull job i rate these and there only beta`s lol 9/10

best driver this year to date i would say X800 Pro`s benifit from these greatly.

just been playing richard burns and they have fixed the LOW to HIGH detail System FREEZE BUG for me

also the replays are smooth as slilk now

THANKYOU SO MUCH YOU HAVE MADE ME A HAPPY MAN TODAY.

i don't do benchmark tests myself.....i prefer to go by what i see on screen infront of me during games.

and i do agree these drivers do rock........farcry is smoother than 4.9's and can now run in highest detail.on my x800pro.with 2gig ram.still to try D3.

so far a big thanks to ati for releasing these drivers.and to zardon for having a good relationship with ati.credit has to go to both mentioned.

This is strange the driver i downloaded yesterday from that link had the label wxp-w2k-8-07-018211e. I checked the link again today and now i downloaded a version which has the label wxp-w2k-8-07-018380E.
Is this an updated version?

there most likely won't be. omega normally only works on the official drivers.to many time restraints to work on all drivers from ati..

From the scores in 3dmark and the way games run, I bet "AI" is enabled in some form or fashion in these drivers..

They always said they won't do any app-specific optimizations for benchmarks, so better scores in 3DMark shouldn't necessarily mean that Cat AI was activated.

They also stated Cat AI would only work with the new CCC; I'm pretty sure the CCC does the app detection so with the old CP or the 4.9-CCC (which has no option for AI) this just wouldn't work. The driver just is so frickin fast on it's own

Is this an updated version?

The driver is the same, ATI added support for X700 cards in the newer build.

I installed these drivers and booted up Doom 3, they worked great! I could definately "feel" a better framerate, but after half an hour the graphics suddenly were corrupted, tearing in the textures and a what seems to be a lighting rendering problem. I've rebooted the game many times, no good, and UT2004 runs like a dream and other games too, it's Doom 3 only. It looks like the driver set is optimized for D3 or OpenGL and this somehow is incompatible with my GPU. I'll try a restart of the pc and see if it's fixed.

well, I'll be damned - a restart cleaned up the graphics again

but this has never happened before, so I still believe these drivers caused it. If a restart is all there is to it, that's cool with me

The corruption occured in the 'cavern area 2' towards the end with lots of volcanic stuff and steam and lighting going on.

My understanding is that you need CCC for enabling advanced AI or disabling it altogether. The driver defaults to using standard AI if CCC isn't present. So I believe this driver is utilizing AI. If I am wrong, then we have a lot to look forward to because I've seen some nice improvements in doom3 with this set.

I have to admit guys!
This is the first time I'm keepin' an original ATi driver!
Got the "Omega 2.5.76" already runnin' on my rig...but DAMN!!!
My fingers were itchin' to much! (Sorry Omega, just didn't have the patience!)

These new drivers are AWESOME!!!

Update:

The 8.07 beta driver will eventually be known as CATALYST 4.11. So in effect this is an early version of CATALYST 4.11. thats st8 from ati

um omega can u make a fix so i can install ccc on these drivers. i get the unknown card error even after installing wdm drivers first..i had to manually install them but can you make a fizx.i can install the old controll panel but not ccc dude to that msi error

I have a very sickning time with these driver fix on my abit 9600xt 256mb video card I try everthing I couldn't get pass 3dmark01se score of 11,000 points at all even with overdrive something not wright with these drivers.

Back to omegas 4.9 driver set Please Terry I'm begging you please give more boost to 9600xt video card boards. I was very please with them on 4.6-4.8 they very good and np with official drivers and speed. To me Omega drivers save my frame rates in 4.9 they gave me back normal over all frame rates. I don't know why I got bench score of 10826 on 3dmark01se

with 4.9 hotfix that should fixes the mem leak for 256mb boards I didn't think it did at mind at all. Plus I did defrag after installed then benchmark it. Who else has same card here? I want to compare if anyone else getting this problem even with overdrive I even can't above 11,000point mark. With Omegas 4.9 drivers I can even with out overdrive on I got benchmark of 11,158

So there is something horrible worng with new fixes I think going worng driection. There I think I better stop bitching

I'm having problems again here ; full crash in doom 3 many times now, it just locks up

great performance while it lasts though

GPU is not OCed either, Doom 3 has worked like a Swiss clockwork 'till now. May be the same failure you're having Robert McClelland

I don't know what to add, I've had no probs with the 4.9 or omega so I figure the 8.07beta either don't work well with the 9600XT 256 MB or the driver set is unstable

Anyone else noticed that the ps 2.0b path in Far Cry is TOTALLY hosed up with these drivers? I'm talking about graphical corruption like I've never seen before, multi-colored polygonal shapes everywhere. This is on a X800XT PE. The game is totally unplayable except in ps 2.0 mode.

Back to the official 4.9s for me.....

but to follow up, after the graphics were corrupted as mentioned earlier, I reinstalled the Cat 4.9 to get Doom 3 up and running again, but alas! it seems the 8.07beta has made some nasty footprints in the registry or something, now Doom 3 freezes up with any driver, omega or catalyst. I just tried reinstalling the whole game, no good

The only solution now seems to be to do a reformat of Windows to get Doom back up

It started out well enough, but this driver has really made a mess out of D3.

I just installed omegas 4.9 drivers and tweak my video card a bit on AQ3 I hit all time high of 29,207 overclock at 576mhz 315mhz

my normal scores are defult 27,497
