Nayone had a similar problem?
that is a punkbuster enabled game is it not? do you have service pack 2 installed? try disabling DEP(data execution prevention) from your boot.ini file.

i have the lockup problem with COD and have disabled that setting gonna have a play and see what else i can find out.
my smartguard reports agp fast writes as being off and agp speed as off ??
even though they are enabled in the bios ? strange, the 4.9 drivers show this all how it should be so it must be a driver issue.
i have a k8neo plat and a rad 9700pro for those who wish to know, plus a 400 watt psu which has only 16 on the 12volt rail

You need more amps than that.

ok /execute will disable DEP because thats intel way. the "proper" way for AMD is.

/NoExecute=AlwaysOff

ok re-did the /noexecute=alwaysoff and so far so good the freeze in COD seems to have gone
As for the 16amp on 12v rail is it really that bad, i dont have any other problems at all, it was just this dam freezing issue which was thought to be a punkbuster thingy.
I could use a new graphics card had this one nearly 2 years now got it when they first came out but thats a case of trying to persuade the misses lol.

Omega drivers based on the official 4.10 Cats are out? I only see the ones based on the beta. Maybe a problem on my end, page not refreshing or something?

ya i dont think u should, their would be no point to it. the beta's have better performance, if u were going to, i would suggest a new installer to fix the WMV acceleration thing (and control panel to enable/disable or grey the option out depending on the reg settings of the WMP version.

and the uninstaller. other than that i wouldnt mind seeing no update until 4.11 for many reasons.

The 4.10's are an older package than what the latest Omega drivers use. They do for instance not have the fix that helps cards with 256MB of graphics memory. Might well be redundant to try using the 4.10's as the base for another set, as no major problems with the 8.07 beta seem to exist. Perhaps someone running some specific game might want to use 4.10's instead, but not likely many enough to warrant the work. 4.11 should be less than a month away anyway. Or another hotfix-beta even sooner.

Like CS: Source? That game plus several others have major gamma issues with the beta's. Omega already said he was hoping to fix that in his upcoming drivers, but now that means we'll have to wait a month and half to get it fixed.

The beta drivers I am having trouble with. I play EQ2 I can't even enjoy the game on Balanced graphics without very noticable slow down. I have the x800 xt. This card has so many problems. I talked to a friend who has the Fx5900 by nvidia. He says he gets no slow-down at all on balanced graphics. Now this is parculiar as I have an X800 XT and I get slow down. HMM their is something wrong. I don't know whether it's the drivers, or the game itself. Why is everything geared toward Nvidia and NOT ATi? Noteing this is on a COMPLETELY FRESH CLEAN install of Windows. Also on a Pentium 4 3.6 GHZ computer with a 1000 mb ram. It just annoys me a little after paying 500 dollars for a video card that is not perfoming nearly as good as it should.
