exclamation Bottom Line of Video Playback, Mobility Radeons, and Catalyst

What's the bottom line? I heard all Catalysts from 4.7 and up will be affected with playback issues on Radeon laptops! Is that true? I want to get the best performance, but I dont want to have issues on my laptop.

It is true indeed. A buddy of mine has to stick with the 4.5 omegas or else his playback is all choppy. I don't know what his chipset is, but it's a prostar laptop

Seems to happen on certain Clevo based laptops (e.g., Sager) with 9600/9700 mobility chips. Maybe it happens in others as well.

You can always make a restore point (if you are using XP) and undo the install if it doesn't work.
