Error with 9800 pro

Hey, I posted a thread last week reporting many blue screens error messages, game crash and my computer simply freezing with my screen turning blue.

Well, the compuber froze again while I was playing dod, and my screen turned blue, but I finnally got an error message after the reboot.

here is a link for the ss, but the error message is in french sadly : http://img47.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img47&image=error24.jpg

It says that Windows suddently shut down because the graphic card device had a breakdown, and that the 9800 omega driver 2.5.90 seems to cause the instability

The error details looked like this :

szAppName : Drivers.Display szAppVer : 10024E480000021002

szModName : ati2dvag.dll szModVer : 6.14.10.6490 Offset : B43C06EA

The thing is, I know this isn't cause by the 2.5.90 only, cause I had this problem since I installed my graphic card (omega 4.8, ATI 4.9, omega 4.9 and now omega 8.07), it's just the first time the computer actually tells me what happened.

Any clues???

When dod simply crash it's annoying, but takes 30 seconds to be back in the server. When computer crash, it's a good 3 minutes, and this doesn't help my clan when I'm having a dod match

So your issue came up again.

Where did you leave off last time? Did you run a memory test, eliminate background programs, etc?

well this issue comes up about everyday, but it's the first time I get details about the errors from the computer.

I didn't run any test, since I don't know which ones to run and what to do with the results.

I am supposed to have a technicien to check the machine but we are having timing issues so far.

I believe in the previous thread you said you also added memory and you upgraded from an older nVidia card; is that right?

In any event try to run some memory tests on the computer to see if any mem errors appear. Get all the 'normal' stuff out the way too like a spyware and virus scan. You can also try to upgrade your chipset drivers and then redetect your AGP bus settings through the SmartGart tab (redetect button in the corner) in the drivers after reinstalling\rebooting as well.

try this:

http://www.memtest86.com/

download the memtester ( floppy OR ISO (and burn a cd version with loads really nice and good for quick tests)

if it spits out anything bad... you got some memory problems

And i'm wondering if your pushing your computer passed the power limits...

Did your problems start happening AFTER you installed the card? if so

try running with the least amount of devices... (unplug all unnessary drives/usb/anything that takes power)

Run with the basics.. pull your soundcard if you need to or any other pci/isa card... run with one stick of memory.... and see if this resolves your issue... IF SO, your PSU isn't keeping up.... now enough power...

i was just recently getting constant reboots... and it only got worse.... oventually giveing me a similare error ...

got the point were just sitting in windows.. it would reboot...

MY PSU is officially unreviveable... it is running ATM... but ASAP, i'm replacing it and i can't get this one fixed... it's squealing like crazy (i'm running with half the stuff atm)
