CLI.exe Internet?

What exactly is CLI.exe and why does it need to access the internet? If this is blocked via ZoneAlarm will it create problems? Or is this a ZoneAlarm issue?

Thanks,

its a component of the CCC from ati i think
CCC being based on a .Net architecture, its need a server and client to operate so yeah it needs a network connection, but the only connection its going to do is local so it shouldn't be accessing the internet for any reason ... i think

Quite right. As long as it is only accessing the IP 127.0.0.1 then it is software loopback traffic from one part of the software to another on the same system. A practice that shouldn't be necessary for the type of software that CCC is, but nevertheless harmless.

the loopback is more likely nessary to get rid of any kind of annoying error or complaint that .net might have.... i'm completely unsure atm...

its not accessing the internet, its acting like a server client type application. zonealarm is known to have some problems, read the FAQ about it, and on the driver notes it will tell more i belive.

but its not accessing the internet, its a .net technology thing, its how it works.

CCC is made up many separate components These separate components
communicate with each other…To do so that use loop back connections,
internal network connections basically CCC is connecting to itself…A lot of
fire walls don’t or can’t distinguish the difference between and internal and
external connection. This the false positives that it attempting to connect
to the net.
