Catalysts and windowxp and closing windows

I'm starting to get mad with this situation:

I installed the latest 6193 drivers for my WindowsXP w/ sp1. The videocard is a hercules radeon8500LE with 64megs of memory.

The problem is that every time I close any window in XP the screen gets black and after a sec it returns to normal mode. It does this with IE, mIRC, mediaplayer and so on. I have the theater mode on in overlay-section, but it doesn't matter couz it blinks even with that setting disabled.

Any help with this would be nice. If not, then I'll go back to a nvidia card

Try turning off second display in displays tab (display properties, settings, advanced, displays).
