??? SD 4x AGP on DDR 8x Motherboard

Hi, I m using radeon 7000 64MB card. I m pleased with my card as I m not a gamer. I want to update my computer from p-III 800 Mhz & Octek MOBO to AMD 64 bit 3000+ & ASUS MOBO.

My radeon card has 64 SD memory and it support 2x/4x. But ASUS MOBO support DDR memory and 8x. So what do u think, is it possible to run my radeon card with ASUS MOBO?

Thank u for ur help.

System Specs

all sd ram vga cards are totally separate from onboard ram this is for the graphics card only.. will work fine on mobo's that use ddr.

as for the 2/4x are also backward compatible with all mobo's that support 8x.the bios will select the correct settings automatically.

8x mobos don't support agp 1.0.....

any agp card @ 2/4x is agp 2.0

8x...is agp 3.0 these only support agp 2.0 upwards so there will be no problems.

That means there will be no problem at all if I use my 2x/4x supported AGP on 8x supported MOBO!

i used to work in a support center, not to be mentioned... and we had some problems with some motherboard agp slots and some radeons not fitting in them. just make sure ur standards are correct. i dont foresee any problems at all, as MIG-31 suggests, but be prepaired to buy a new card if it doesnt work.

i will let you know i have a 7500 ALL in wonder card (or was it 7200) and it fits fine in my 8x agp slot. i cant say that of all of them tho
