Just picked up NFSU2, the textures look horrible and the road and sky looks pixelated like its running in 16bit color. Running the game at 1280x1024 everything on the highest setting. I remember playing the demo with the 4.10 and they seemed to look ok.

I reloaded a clean XP image then installed the 4.11 drivers like I always do. It seems ok now, I noticed for some stupid reason AGP writes were turned off in the smartgart settings, I selected retest and it was fine.

I got a strange Problem with 4.11(without CCC), hope anyone can help me:
I can't play video files, with 6xFSAA activated (for Direct3D) :/ (with Media player 10, with media player classic the video stutters...)

When I deactivate FSAA it works fine...
And FSAA doesn't seem to work with World of Warcraft (D3D mode, my frames are still around 50-100 at 1278x1024 and i got lots of edges... FSAA works fine with OpenGL (Doom 3 for example...)
I got a x800 pro...

Well, I just did a clean install of windows 2000 pro and catalyst 4.11. 4.11 under windows 2000 (DX9.0c) BREAKS the TV functionality of my AIW 9600 Pro . PC check tells me that there's no radeon class hardware detected (but the description for the driver is correct.)

I'll format again just to verify this but i don't see how it could be my fault. It's a clean format with only the chipset drivers installed and the ATI cr...software.

Come on guys. This is really frustrating!

No changes to services (or anything for that matter) and no .net since I'm not using CCC.

OK has anyone tried to use the latest Catalyst 4.10 or 4.11 drivers for their moblility radeon graphic cards? I have a mobility radeon 9000 and i tried using the modding tool ( Dhmodtool2.0b ) but i get an error saying,
"This display driver is not compatible with the display adapter(s) installed in your system."

I read the readme for 4.11 and they are not for radeons below 9500. I tried the 4.10 which can be used for the ATi 9000 but it doesnt work even when modded. I didnt try the 4.9 tho. So is there a new modding tool needed?

any suggestions??

When I enable overdrive I get vertical lines all over the monitor and I need to restart to getit off, it doesnt happen everytime but once in a while, I read here that others have been having the same problem so I guess its a bug to be reported..I cant se the 4.12 betas because of the flashing textures in HL2

I have the exact same problem with Catalyst 4.12. Also a Mobility Radeon 9000.
Anyone have a solution to this? Will I have to download an old driver to get it to work?

*edit*

After moving backwards through the line of Catalysts, starting with 4.12 I think I've got this pretty much figured out.

Version 4.6 : Works
Version 4.7+ : Direct3D/DirectDraw hardware acceleration broken
Version 4.9+ : 1400x1050 resolution support broken
Version 4.10 : Don't remember if it would install, but if it did, it didn't work right anyway.
Version 4.11+ : Won't install

Damn those donkey *censored* at ATI
Probably thought at 4.6 "Hey, this actually works! Gotta break the next version or we might permanently damage our reputation of having piece of sh*t drivers!"

fell free to bring this up in the 4.12 thread,

But you might like to know ATI doesnt make drivers for laptops directly. The makers modify them acording to thier spefic setups and unique features..

Users commonly modify inf's to covert offical desktop drivers for use on laptops but thier still not 100% . Try the mobilty modder, try the omega's compain to your laptop maker for not makeing avialable up updated drivers....

either way your tring use driver not officaly ment or configured for your laptop on your laptop

this is an old thread! somebody lock this...
