how do I softmod with the 4.12 beta cats?

Hey, I remember that at one time you could modify something to softmod your 9800SE to a PRO with regular catalyst drivers. Well right now I am using Omega, but unfortunately CS:Source keeps crashing and supposedly the 4.12 drivers fix this...but theres no Omega version obviously. WELL, that simply wont do...so is there still a way I can modify the driver to enable all 8 pipes?

you dont yet, u could try riva tuner tho, or just wait for wizard or omega to make their softmod fixes.

it has the softmods for every driver, also rivia tuner does it, but im not sure for new releases... should work tho. as always read the directions.

or just wait for omega hopefully next weeks release. (hopefully

lol I always give him a chance...but i cant wait for his drivers this time. As soon as he releases them, I AM SO downloading them. Until then, I WANNA PLAY COUNTERSTRIKE SOURCE! (and it keeps crashing as it is)

my friend from DH softmodded the 4.12 betas for me. YAY CRABS!!!!

edit: 15 frame boost in the video stress test on CS source. and now the game isnt all jerky when running into a new room. and it doesnt bluescreen on Estate.

i softmodded them myself with rivia tuner http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/
wasnt any problem at all. i just excecuted the install for the ati drivers, they unpacked into the c:\ati\support\drivernamehere folder then i exited the install when the option to came up. then ran the softmod script after installing and running rivia tuner once.

located the file (i had to use *.* and manaully select the file cause of the *.sy_ extention) then installed the drivers, (of course i used driver cleaner before i did any of this stuff (using driver cleaner after unpacking the ati drivers, means it will delete those unpacked files

)

all works just fine and dandy. glad to see you got it, but others may want to know for their own sakes.
